i was debating between Locche and Pernell I gave it to Locche, he just, seems to make it look so easy.
i think hopkins is clearly in their league but not quite as good defensively as any of the 5 names mentioned save duran
Its hard to say, first thoughts are Whitaker, he seemed untouchable, especially against the faster slicker boxers. Mayweather gets hit with very very little, but his radar isn't nearly as good as . Benetiz is right up there, better radar than Mayweather, but not Whitaker imo. I think Mayweather's defense is more consistant and complete than Benitez Loche looks great on film but I don't rate his filmed opposition too hight, I think the likes of Cervantes are particularly robotic, and by all acounts Ortiz beat him Duran is a different kettle of fish, very hard to hit for a offensive boxer puncher, but not as great defensively as the first 3 in my view
Pernell, Locche and Benitez (in that order) are the most instinctive on that list. Just for the ability to make you miss, they were genuises and sort of nature over nurture. Which is not the case with Mayweather, Hopkins or even Duran. Roberto's nuances and ability to mix offense and defense simultaneously was brillient though, but just for pure slickness on D it's hard to beat those three. Don't forget Pep too.
