Nah I'm clowning that know nothing ****. Too many people here feel that they can say anything and there's no one here that actually knows the truth. Guys like him need to be called out and ridiculed for their ignorance of the sport and I'm just the guy to do it.:deal
Nah I doubt it. Rigo has good defense but he doesn't have the awareness of PBF. He got dropped by Donaire in his last fight no way in hell would PBF be caught like he was there.
Floyd Mayweather is the most complete fighter that ever laced them up. His defense is second to none and that includes Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea didn't have the array of defenses in his repertoire that Floyd displays on a regular basis. I like Pernell but he can't touch Floyd, defense or anything else.
It's close between Floyd and Sweet Pea, but Pernell takes it. Pea's combination of speed and insane upper and lower body movement was spectacular on the inside and the outside, plus Pea proved his defense against better fighters than Floyd has faced. I will say that his defense is more based on instinct and athleticism imo than Floyd's.
On the contrary, I know exactly what I'm talking about. I'll say it again so you can truly understand. Floyd Mayweather is the most complete fighter that has ever laced them up. This includes PERNELL WHITAKER
Floyd is the best. Pea has an advantage of being Southpaw which always makes things way easier. On top of that Floyd has way more versatility than the other 2. Winky & Pea have the same style in ever fight. Floyd can change his D from fight to fight and even from round to round
Floyd's ability to avoid getting hit flush with a clean shot is just absurd. Been posted a few times already, but Mayweather's style and fundamentals are more efficient than Whitaker's flashy head movement and footwork. Not trying to discredit Pea, just saying it like I see it.
Only because he never faced fighters Wright and Whitaker faced like Tito, Mosley or Julio Cesar Chavez or Julio Cesar Vasquez, a dangerous southpaw at 154.
Mayweather lacks punching power, doesn't put punches together anymore, is somewhat predictable, and hasn't proven that great defense will hold up against anyone considered on the same plane of "eliteness" as himself. I would not call him the most complete fighter ever.
A lot of people doesn't understand defense. It is more than just upperbody movement while showboating. It is about not getting hit. Pea get hit a lot while he is rolling shots with his hands down. Relying on head movement and getting caught half clean shots. Most boxers can imitate that and get similar success. Pea reacts the same way no matter what type of offense is coming at him. Floyd have a different defensive answer for every situation. When to lean back, dart in and out, smother/clinch, head and body movement, block WITH HIS HANDS, parrying, step back, sharp counter punching, bait guys in for check hooks and pull counters. The guy does it all not some rinse and repeat routine. SIMPLY PUT: Floyd shut his opponents down and reduce their punch output. Pea doesn't. Floyd clearly is much more capable defensively than Pea. When is the last time you see Pea try to block shots for a long duration of time? He is not nearly as comfortable with it.
Out of curiosity, which opponent on Floyd's record (at the time they fought him) was as good as Chavez? Floyd has a great defence, one of the best I've ever seen, but to say that he's 'clearly much more capable defensively' than Whitaker when he's never tested that defence against a single prime/near prime all time great is a little hasty, to put it mildly.
