Not who had the hardest hitting jab ever But more who was best at throwing power jabs such as hagler or liston had.
Louis and Liston come to mind, obviously. Terrell had a pretty stiff jab, too. Among the lighter weights, Willie Joyce in the 1940s was said to have a hard jab. Lou Gross trained him and touted him to the high heavens in his articles in The Knockout, etc. all through the '50s and '60s. Don't know much about the guys in the past 20 years or so.
Pinklon Thomas had an heavier jab than Holmes but it was a lot slower and more telegraphed as a result.
I'm going with Holmes and throwing in Hearns as an honourable mention because his powerful flicking jab was a thing of beauty.
There's no comparison between Liston's and Hagler's jabs....not even in taking into consideration the weight and size difference.
From the lighter divisions: Nedal "Skinny" Hussein. Ask Manny about that jab. Skinny had some serious flaws but he could punch
Beat me to it. The first thing I thought of when I read the question was Brown knocking Terry Norris down with a jab in their first fight.
