I understand what you are saying but I think the tournament between hookers stands up and matches the question because even though the quality of some of these names differ some what they all come forwards which makes them vulnerable to massive punchers, and you should never hook with a hooker, it`s just a simplistic question design to get people talking about hooks which has happened, personally in terms of quality I don`t think Ruddock and Morrison should be there but they both had devastating hooks which in Ruddock`s case was a hybrid sort of punch, thanks.

I knew Louis was a deadly combo puncher but hadn`t noticed his hook standing out as much, I`ll have to watch more film studies on him, thanks.

Frazier and Tyson were the best and would meet in the final with Tyson having the edge in that. Cooney ain’t on the list but I have to say that he threw probably the more hurtful looking left hooks to the body that I’ve seen though I know people gonna say that he didn’t really beat anyone of note or in their primes but damn, some of those body shots looked and sounded like he was breaking bones on impact.

I forgot Cooney he could of beat Ruddock or Morrison, but I don`t think he had the ability to set up his hooks like the others on the list, Frazier was much better than Cooney throwing the hook from odd and using erratic head movement to get inside and land his hooks.

Tyson had a better right than left and wasn't predominately a left hooker like the others. I consider all of the others except for Ruddock to have a better left hook. That isn't to say Tyson didn't have a good left hook.

So it's a straight tournament? How does that determine the best hook?

Fair enough, I just feel in those fights the guy with the best hook will enhance his chances because both fighters will be coming forwards and they are all inside fighters, specifically the guy with the most powerful hook will have a great chance to win because surely they will land with that shot well a number of time and a few of them can take you out with that one shot, a couple of these bouts at least would be decided by who times their hook best, but I get what you`re saying.

Just pure power probably Liston, Cooney, Tua, or Morrison. Best usage would be Frazier ( based on the fighters he beat with it, and he was uncannily accurate with it) fastest, probably Tyson, best form J.Louis . I don't rate Dempsey ( very overrated in my opnion) VERY underrated was Holyfield , he dropped Bowe with a hook (1st to do so I believe) damn near decapitated Dokes. M.Weaver also had a very good left Hook. (Ask J.Tate)

It's just a bit of an odd conceit, unless you only limit each fighter to fighting with their left hand, or something like that. The winner of the tournament is just as likely going to prove to be the most well rounded and determined, and may never even significantly use their left hook.

The winner, by the way, is Tyson.

Untl someone hooks him back and
Doesn't fall from mikes punch then it's Tyson usual cut bait and run to findthe a way out of the fightring. Then hopes King has spread around enough cash to get the result overturned. Tyson was a frontrunning, old lady mugging, ****** ***** who was KOd 6 times
