    Never had the balls to throw a left uppercut to the head as a southie. Stepping to the left and hooking the left was one of my three patented moves to mediocrity... just be careful not to walk into his right...

    In terms of devastating power, Liston and Foreman are the first two that come to mind. Michael Spinks during his tenure at LHW deserves mention also. The one that Walcott used to KO Charles was probably the single best ever thrown.

    I never saw Liston throw a left uppercut as mentioned here, the right uc he threw very well. As already posted Big George and Wilfredo Gomez are the two most gifted I've seen with this punch. I can't put Walcott's ko punch over Charles as a left uppercut, it was thrown and landed different then one, and I haven't seen a clip of him throwing one in any of his taped bouts, many fighters never learn the punch, it took me about 13 years to really have it down.
