    morales for me..

seeing him going all-out and toe-toe with his trilogies with barrera and pacman shows a wide array of his offense and varied combos..

I'm going with Barrera for the combos, the offensive diversity. JMM would be second to me. Timing, Ring IQ and brute strength but in a conservative enough package that I go with Barrera instead. He can be overwhelming and, really, unafraid to roughhouse you and throw you off before blitzing you too. Very effective destroyer.

i'll go for morales. has nice combos and power as well. he's one of the few who fought pac in his own game and convincingly win.

    I'd agree with this.

JMM's my favourite of the Mexicans but it's because he's smarter, not because because he's more aggressive. More than the others, he tends to wait for the opponent for move first and then makes him look silly, whereas Barrera was better at initiating exchanges, forcing the opponent on to the back foot, throwing punches in bunches and coming out on top.

Barrera, could throw everything with ferociousness and skill to match. He had it all in his prime in term of offense.

Barrera and Marquez/morales afterward.the latter two traded on having really good textbook offensive skills to make them exce(in abscence of finesse, headmovement, defensive skill etc)l, whereas i found Barrera to be a more rounded overall fighter, though sstill with at least the same quality of punch variety and deployment.

Rafa Marquez was too basic overall and Israel lacked the technique of the others.

Erik Morales- Best fighter of the 5, and his defense was offense, so go figure.

I'd actually have Morales at the bottom of the list out of these boxers.

Whilst he was good offensively, he didn't put together combinations better than anyone else on the list. During his career, he was usually the rangey boxer in the fight and could win purely by staying on the outside, rather than mix it on the inside with sharp combinations. He never did any of that because he didn't need to. His timing and precision was very good, yes, but I still think he's at the bottom of the list there too. Possibly ahead of Vazquez.

Despite probably being the biggest puncher apart from Rafael Marquez, I'd have Morales close or at the bottom, as far as technique goes. He's my favourite fighter on the list but it just shows how good the others are to be better than he was.
