Langford and Fitz were both blown up middleweights that flattened heavyweights .. carrying that power up and succeeding against bigger men is a serious achievement .. Jackson was a huge puncher but I never saw him flatten light heavyweights or cruisers ... look at Bob Foster, every bit the hitter at 175 that Jackson was at 154. He did not make a dent at heavyweight .. it really is a very exclusive club .. not mentioned but might be is Ezzard Charles who was another small guy that carried it up and was still a pretty decent hitter at heavyweight .. they say his KO of Moore was one of the most dramatic and frightening ..

He grant what real modern heavyweights did Langford and Fitz knockout and it is amazing how you know this even though there isn't must footage of them. You must be God huh?

Charles had a great power at heavyweight? Amazing since he was never a heavyweight but a blown up cruiser weight. He never knocked out a modern sized heavyweight.

Bob Foster actually moved up and fought real modern sized heavyweights not 180 pound fighters pretending to be heavyweights.

Also Archie Moore turned pro at 140 or so in 1935 and stayed around middle weight 160 pounds to about 1944 so Ezzard Charles knocking out a guy who is actually lighter than him suppose to give Charles a cookie? Leonard Moore blew Archie Moore away in 1 round so he should be on your list to then right "he grant". Funny kid.

God - mmmm ... no, just someone with access to Youtube. There's not a lot on there but enough, combined with report from the time, to get a pretty good idea of both fighters.

If you'd paid any attention to the subject you would have seen that the question was about pound for pound stopping power. In that context, the fact that Charles was a blown up middleweight counts in his favour. Given that a "real" heavyweight is a guy who weighs over 200lbs he knocked out quite a few. Wallace weighed over 220 and got stopped.

I can I have a 25 inch ding a ling so would that be true then? There is few footage of these guys and here say. Apparently here say on this forum means a lot.

Charles was a blown up cruiser weight not middleweight. Archie Moore was a a blown up middleweight. And neither knocked out world class heavyweights. Because you name somebody named Wallace should that prove something?

Also did they knock out guys with one punch? Hell no.

Julian Jackson knocked people to sleep with one punch. End of story.

If you mean Coley Wallace he wasn't well over 200 pounds. He was 201 pounds when they fought and when did he become world class?

Wait Charles knocked out a guy named Frank Buford who was 202 pounds and had a record of 21-18-7 yep. World class.

Guys like Charles, Archie Moore and Jersey Joe Walcott are all built up so people like you and other people who don't know jack about boxing will think Marciano fought great fighters.

So many fighters like Charles, Moore and Walcott but especially Moore padded their records. (Not as much as Marciano) But since there are few fights of these guys out there and only here say then you can't believe that bull****

I'm struggling to think of a one punch knockout he achieved.
A brute of a puncher though.

Two of the most spectacular knockouts I've seen was Julian Jackson's knockout of Herol Graham and Hearns putting Roberto Duran to sleep. Jackson's punch was probably the only punch that he landed in the entire fight against Graham but while Hearns final right hand against Duran's chin looked just as impressive as Jackon's punch, does the fact that Duran had already been down and hurt several times before the final knockout punch mean it wasn't in a sense a genuine one-punch knockout win?

Ken the Julian Jackson vs Terry Norris knocked out was pretty damn nice too. Even though Norris had a weak chin it was still pretty damn special.

Julian Jackson vs Wayne Powell was pretty brutal. He would just put people out cold.

I'll admit I might not be much of an 'expert' here tho I'm 60 and have followed boxing since the late 50's with my dad as my coach early on. Maybe because, to me, its hard to judge one punch power. Cyclone Hart came to my mind initially. Plus, I (except for the occasional bout) all but pissed off boxing by the early 90's due to the alphabet 'champions' and the 30-40 'top ten' contenders that that crap created, not to mention the new weight classes every 3-4 pounds etc...which has probably led to this UFC excitement BS! That being said, I'd only heard of Jackson in passing thru the years and checked his record on boxrec. Pretty impressive although he seemed to be a 'light-middle', another of those tweeny divisions. Maybe some on board could educate me a bit.
Hamburger, you seem to have an ax to grind regarding older era fighters.
You can't compare eras as you've often heard me say if you've been on board here for any length of time. Can't be done. Maybe you should go back to the General Forum.
In checking Jackson's record, I found an incredible KO% rate. I also found a fighter named Gerald McClellen who had an even greater KO% rate (20 1st round KO's vs. 13 for Jackson) and...who put your Jackson into la-la land...TWICE! Maybe someone could educate me on him as well. :bbb
