    Ali...
He had in ring smarts as far boxing is concerned. he took a lot of punches he shouldn't have taken though, but his only flaw was staying to damn long.

    Mayweather:
This guy is not only smart in the ring, but smart enough to leave the ring before he loses his 0 ;). All joking aside I give the guy a lot of credit, he was one of the smartest guys in the game, but as for balls he's seriously lacking. His prime was probably a year or two ago, and he retires right now. Then, he has the gull to say he beat EVERYONE! Not even close my friend...(at least at 147)

    Amir Khan.

Oh alright that was a joke....to be honest though I'd put Toney above all the ones on the poll. Maybe Whittaker too.

I was actually torn between Ali and Leonard but favored Leonard by an inch.

I would have to agree, even at age 43 he shows that he knows his opponent's style to a T and can still execute, and he has not been beaten decisively once he hit his true stride even till now. I would have to make Ali a close second.

Ali, he knew what he could get away with and how far his rep. would carry him; and, pushed it right to that point.

At first I thought of SRL. He may have been physically outgunned several times, but he still managed to win. Just take the fight against Ayub Kalule. Kalule was stronger, just as fast and should really have won. SRL worked on psyching Kalule and the fight began to turn at around round 7 if I remember correctly. Kalule was still well in the fight, but he began to leave small opening for Leonard to utilize here and there. Still not winning the rounds convincingly, but in the 9th round (if I remmber correctly) SRL used a slight lapse in concentration and stopped Kalule. A great fight and just shows how Ray was able to turn lost fights around time and time again via smartness.

Roy Jones should be in here - and definitely would have been if he had stopped boxing after the Ruix fight.

Ali of course - well, he should probably be in here on the Foreman fight alone.

Hopkins is brilliant inside the ring, but you don't sit on your ass as much as he has and lose close decisions and get called a smarter fighter inside the ring than guys like Leonard, Mayweather, and Ali, who knew all about grabbing life by the balls. Hopkins is completely stupid in the ultimate sense.
