I said strictly on what we saw. We saw a guy who was chipped away at until he could no longer defend himself. Sonny was beat up. Punches did that. It was a dissection. Especially that last completed round.

Winning fighters have injuries too. Danny Williams vs Potter or Tyrell Biggs vs Simms for example. And Sonny did an excellent job hiding that injury because he was swinging with full force all night with both hands...until he he was beat up. He took a lot of Unanswered punches in that fight.

And I don’t think Louis was knocked down in a single one of them. He had a good chin.

I appreciate that. I definitely enjoy your perspectives. I understood when you posted it. It’s hard to perceive tone and body language through social media.

We just give each other grace and keep rolling

    Peace brother,

Liston had the better chin. Louis had the better heart.

But he was not in grave danger of being knocked out or even down.

If anything that just proves my point even more, he was rusty, had fought less than 3 rounds in 3 years, came into a bout with a shoulder injury, untrained, and seriously underestimated his oppenent who was the greatest of all time. Despite all this, and receiving a beating Liston still didn't touch the canvas. I can't believe you're bringing this up in an argument against Liston. It's almost as funny as the time you bought up Westphal landing about 4 glancing punches before being flattened in less than 2 minutes as a knock AGAINST Liston.

To me. Liston had the more solid chin but no of them had iron chin

Liston shades it for me but Louis is underrated. He's like Holmes - both could be dropped or seriously buzzed but both recovered fast and came back superbly.

I agree with Louis's recuperative abilities but I have him a notch below Holmes and Liston who I place among the top in terms of durability.

I’m not sure but I know that he’s gotten into it with the same ridiculous Lounge mod who’s banned me multiple times...

Liston's hard to gauge really well as his resume isn't overflowing with ATG's and renowned bangers. He could definitely take a punch but where exactly he'd rate is tough.

I wouldn't have much difference at all between Holmes and Louis. They are close to a wash for me.

I'd have Ali above all of those for starters. Mercer, Cobb and McCall are extremely noteworthy as well. Foreman's well up there. Tyson's solid. Bonavena, Chuvalo and Holyfield are way up there.
