I'll go with Frazier on pure guesswork alone.

He fought bigger, harder hitting guys, in their prime.

Frazier was also naturallly bigger which helps.

Who said Chuvalo buzzed Frazier? I dont recall that.

Anyone who thinks Quarry could not whack never saw him fight. The guy held a record for years in the amateurs for stoppages in a tournament (may still hold it).

Quarry had a dynamite punch he just did not have the discipline to always set it up right.

I have seen Quarry fight , vs Frazier , Chuvalo , Norton , Shavers and maybe Ali as well . But I did not watch him in de amateurs .

But de level @ de amateurs was far from telling , was it not ? at least by de time and weight that he fought at .

Archie Moore said no one he ever fought had chin like Marciano, Walcott, who fought a lot of guys too, said same.

Other than Foreman, who did he fight that could really punch? Frazier never fought Ron Lyle, Earnie Shavers, Sonny Liston, and Mac Foster. Frazier's management wanted no part of the bigger punchers.

Joe Louis, Archie Moore, Jersey Joe Walcott were bigger punchers than George Chuvalo, Jerry Quarry, and Oscar Bonavena.

    LOve the rumor mill ...

Frazier was not stunned against Chuvalo nor Quarry ... Stander is highly questionable ... In addition to being dropped by Walcott and Moore Marciano was badly hurt by Lowry and stunned by Vingo ... the facts are that Joe not only fought bigger punchers but did so near blind in one eye through out his career .. talk about a handicap ... that being said both guys had terrific chins ...when you fight their type of style you must be a warrior in every sense ..

Archie Moore, Walcott bigger punchers than Chuvalo, Quarry and Bonavena? That's nonsense man. Joe Louis maybe can qualify in terms of comparison power.

Contracts were on the table for Frazier to fight Lyle and Shavers. Yeah, they never happened. I think Joe would have whupped Mac Foster. Besides, Foster got KOed in a fight for the right to a title shot against Frazier.

The only fighter you mentioned that I can believe Durham wanted Frazier to avoid was Liston.

Both men had pretty solid chins. I think it's a question of toughness too.

Would Marciano get up from 6 knockdowns vs George Foreman?
