Chuvalo was TKO'd against Frazier and Foreman, but never knocked down. Marion's fights never went for that many rounds so he didn't prove alot in that department, but he fought some big punchers as well. Personally I'd say Marion had the better chin, considering he was the shittier fighter but still was taking them. Chuvalo still had pretty good power to scare his opponents into being careful.
I have no clue how weight helps with how resistant your brain is to damage, but Grim was tough as nails
I don't seem to have any typos... Wilson never fought Frazier or Foreman, he fought in the 90s era against guys like Lewis, Rahmin and Mercer
I with Chuvalo, he was a much better fighter than Wilson ever was and he was never floored in 93 fights compared to 57 for Wilson.
No, you don't...I was just making a point.... Oop's...you do have a typo...the second guy you mentioned...it's "Rahman"...
Isn't that an argument for Wilson? Surely the worse fighter you are the more exposed your chin is on a fight by fight basis.
Wilson had an Ismail Abdoul level chin. Nobody could put him away without resorting to thumbing or cuts. Chuvalo was stopped a couple of times. His chin was more on the level of a Ray Mercer, still solid, but crackable.
No, Wilson's chin was impressive no doubt, and he had a few minor upsets in those 12 wins, and he did fight lots of guys that could hit. I think Wilson was a bit like Lou Monaco, he fought for a paycheck, looking for a quick buck, rather than taking on easy opponents, and gradually increasing his competetition. Maybe he had sparring partner syndrome also, knowing he was extremely durable. I don't really know for sure. He had a really good physique, he looks like British bodybuilder Albert Beckles who won a lot of bodybuilding titles in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
