At his best, it has to be Gomez. Clearly for me. One of the very few examples I can come up with of a simultaneously great offensive and defensive fighter.

    Yeah, I´m with you here....

Napoles would be one of the names instead of Gomez in the thread options.....but I chose Gomez, because being a while since his defensive skills was mentioned here....

Hagler was very complete defensively, parrying, blocking, great head movement.....

These two are the best in my opinion....

I like Chavez here. He was simply a master at slipping and rolling with shots in range and in position to land his own big shots. Very rarely took clean shots on the chin.

Would be between Tyson, Hagler or Chavez. Tyson was barely ever hit in his prime. Hagler and Chavez durability was great but underpinned by very underrated foundamental boxing defense, both very hard to hit clean, great parrying and use of head movement. Both did got hit and lost rounds against faster boxers but kept their punch connects quite low, while they remained accurate, meaning they were more efficient. Chavez is probably the better shot slipper of the 2. Gomez just wasn't quite as efficient as those 2 against faster opponents, his defense was more open because he was more reliant on using athletic advantages to slip punches or out manouver opponents

Between Tyson and Chavez for me

Hagler overall, if you mean "hardest to hit in his prime" i'd go for Tyson.

I'd have to go Gomez, I mean he is one of the best fighters I have seen. And in his early days he was a boxing maestro. Think what he did to Davila and Zarate, and think how little punishment he took.

I voted Tyson, awesome head movement and speed, especially for a heavyweight, once he lost his ability to do this (and maybe just his decication to this technique) his career went downhill, rapidly.

    I agree. :good

Tyson was exceptionally hard to hit clean at his best, but he was hit cleanly a shitload after that.

if we were just talking primes, than Iron mike pulls this out no problemo. But post prison Tyson was utter ****, compared to his former self, so i chose Marvelous Marvin.

I'd say a prime Tyson. His defensive skills were very underrated. His head movement was flawless.
