Holmes the better jab, and Hearns had a better one than Holmes. But Ali vs. Holmes, Holmes had the better jab, which he needed because he did not have the fluid combinations of Ali or the foot movement.
I laugh at all those who think Holmes had the better jab. Holmes jab was harder but in all other categories Alis jab was better. Quicker, ability to throw quicker and in bunches, ability to use that jab at angles. No real comparison in terms of what a jab is designed to do.
Holmes by far. Harder, just as quick and far more accurate. No real comparison between the two if you were to pick just what a definitive heavyweight jab should be like.
The funny thing is Ali had trouble and had to reset with credible jabbers or even sub par jabbers who threw basic straight jabs at him.You couldn't do that with Holmes because it was thrown like a bullet and by far more accurate., Ali's jab was more probing.Jab for jab and what the topic is A JAB...Holmes was better. Alis not even a top 5 jabber really ,he needed to move in angles to get the most out of his jabs or move around. People really have to study their boxing on here for real. If i put up a thread and asked if Ali would win a race vs Usain Bolt and he only had one leg he probably wins that one too... smh
Only in terms of power does Holmes jab have superiority. Every other category that defines a left jab Ali's was better and it's not close. We are talking prime Ali's jab.
Accuracy : Holmes Speed : Holmes Technique : Holmes Power: Holmes Variety: Ali Did the boxing community miss something here? Is there a hidden stat we dont know about? Please enlighten us why Ali has the better jab,so we can join in on the laughter as well?
Ignorance. Ali had the quickest jab in hwt boxing history. As an example his jab was measured scientifically vs the jab of SRR. Ali's jab was not just quicker it was much quicker. Prime Ali's jab was pinpoint accurate. As an example he could move laterally and move laterally very quickly and still land his jab on target. Holmes for the most part threw his jab stepping foreword which is a far easier blow to land. Technique? Holmes would drop his jab every time he threw it. In fact he also had the tendency to pull his left glove away from on guard position as he threw his jab. The fact that every time he was dropped was via right hands is testament to his susceptibility to being hit by them over his low left. Ali, in his prime, was rarely hit by right hands as he combined the best and fastest jab with superb head movement. Your ignorance seeps from your every post.
