Because of the discusion about the opposition of Lomaschenko and Pacquaio in the thread Fighter of the decade, I have to ask this question: Who was pound for pound or in their division higher placed, the Judah after the Baldomir and Mayweather defeats who faced Clottey (before the controversial decision vs. Matthyse) or the Donaire after the Rigondeaux defeat and the win over Vetyeka who faced Walthers (before retaining his Super-Bantamweight title)?

Donaire has the better rep but he doesnt have 9 lives like Zab.

Zab is one of those guys who were given numerous undeserved chances due to his potential.

Both were class acts that conducted themselves like true gentlemen inside and outside the ring.

    Young fighters should take note

Nice sarcasm, in Zab's case, anyway.

You are asking if Cotto beating Zab is a better win than Walters beating Donaire? I'd have to say that Walters beating Donaire was more impressive since he'd only been beaten by Rigondeaux and someone way back by that point. Judah had lost to Tszyu, Mayweather, Spinks, and Baldomir. Donaire had the more impressive resume too since he'd beaten Montiel, Narvaez, Darchinyan, Arce while Judah had only beaten Spinks and Witter. Even though I don't highly rate Walters beating Donaire, since Donaire was too high in weight, too small for Walters, and visibly on the decline he'd been a p4p kingpin as recently as 2012. Judah never rose beyond #10p4p in 2005 and was rated the 5th best welterweight in 2007. Donaire was #4p4p in 2011 #5p4p in 2012 and was still rated the 6th best featherweight in 2014. Also, Donaire had beaten two champions since his defeat to Rigondeaux. Zab was on a two fight losing streak and hadn't fought in a year.

Donaire was a much better and more accomplished fighter than Zab.

I think the same, but asked it actual rather about the win for Clottey over Judah to be inferior to that of Walthers over Donaire.

Because Bald Cell alleges over and over that Clottey was as high rated as Walthers and Pacquaioswin over him was equal to Lomaschenkos over Walthers (in the Fight of the Decade thread).
Just as he pretend that Clotteys victory against Corrales was significant.

I said Pac's win over Clottey was as impressive as Loma's win over Walters, yes. I also admitted, that Corrales was over the hill and out of his weight class when he fought Clottey, I only bought up Corrales again when you started bashing Clottey because of his "lack" of accomplishments instead of how dangerous he was as a fighter who fought close battles against the top WW at the time, past prime or not, I consider beating Chico a decent accomplishment. Whats wrong is claiming Baldomir is a superior fighter to Clottey because Baldomir because a fresher Judah, we all know Baldomir at any point of his career would have been taken apart by the version of Cotto and Margarito that Clottey fought.

But Clottey was not as high ranked as Walthers was, that is just wrong and nobody do this apart of you and himself: Lomaschenko got putted into the pound for pound rankings because of this win (in my top 30, but for most into the top 10) and it was surprising for some, while Pacquaio was absolute expected to dominate here and supposed to do as he had faced better opponents already. This was not only one-sided, but boring (the performances of both). It was embarrassing in my view at that time (before the fight) that he face a left-over of his last victim, as he fought then left-overs of Mayweather and Mosley (but Margarito and Mosley were more interesting opponents).

Corrales was just not relevant and that you pretend otherwise is just a lie.

I dont wanna argue with you in 2 separate threads but I never said Clottey was more highly tanked p4p than Walters, just that he was the same quality of scalp as Walters was for Loma. p4p rankings is not the be all and end all, especially once we have hindsight in our hands, after all Broner was ranked as high as 6 I believe by ring magazine.

It seems less than 1/4 agree with you, as Walthers was the man to beat in Featherweight, Clottey was just a contender.
Although it would have been more significant in Feathweight (but Walthers was still bigger and possible couldn't make the weight, so it suit him more).
