    Frazier, he knocked him down and everything. ken norton always took him close but just pipped him on points that one time.

    Nah, anyone who put just a little pressure on Ali could beat him at this point. Didn't you know that he just had had two fights over the last four years, and hardly any training? He was there for the taking. Even more than Liston in '64.:lol::lol::lol:

    still, 17 competative rounds (51mins) against "at that time rated" fighters within 5 months is much beter prep for a title fight than the 10 min of one way trafic in 3 years that Liston had behind him in 64'.:good

    Yes,both Joe and Ken were equally as tough for Muhammad in different ways.

    ali definitely had to work harder v frazier. look at manila compared to yankee stadium - no contest. the frazier fights were great to watch, norton ones were boring really.

    No one ever beat a prime Ali

    But I will give Frazier the nod here, Ali fought amazingly in parts of the FOTC, and was clearly hampered against Norton
