'Tough', Tijuana Taxi Drivers if you do not mind... Ask Haugen what happens when you do not clarify that!
I didn't know Ruben Castillo, Roger Mayweather, Rocky Lockridge, Edwin Rosario, Meldrick Taylor Hector Camacho Greg Haugen were taxi drivers.
Hagler Prime examples being: Watch the first 30 seconds of Hagler-Hearns, Hagler takes at least 10-15 full power shots from Hearns. A fresh Hearns, just as the fight is beginning, and most of them are right hand shots. Other fighters have trouble with a single full power right hand from Hearns, even in the later stages of a fight. Hagler takes a bundle of them and isn't even knocked down! Plus you have the Mugabi fight. Mugabi knocked out every opponent prior to that fight. He was a monster at that time, and a past prime Hagler took some of his best shots without ever being in serious trouble. Chavez fought a lot of guys, but I don't know of any who had that killer power of Hearns or Mugabi.
Definitely Julio Cesar Chavez. He started at Featherweight and was able to move up all the way to 140 without really being hurt for a long time. 14 + lbs is quite a bit to a guy that small. Even DelaHoya didn`t have him off his feet if I remember correctly and that was at `47. Certainly Hagler proved he took a helluva shot at Middleweight but how would we remember him if he had moved up and got blasted out by Spinks? or Braxton? As for Chavez the man won 30 title fights from 130`40. His chin was amazing.
Hagler by virtue of the fact he was never off his feet ( the slip against Roldan was a pathetic call by the ref ) but only bugs, earwigs, morons, and nationalistic Yanks would slag JCC and his opposition.
Both were exceptional .. Hagler fought some monster punchers at 160 .. keep in mind that Chavez moved up multiple divisions and his held up terrific as well .. two rocks.
Sir Hagler whose chin surpassed even Lamotta's and can rightfully brag he never went down Chavez as we all know clearly hit the deck in the Randall fight
