    It was comprehensive, though. No one ever did that to Duran. Duran, after this loss, would still beat Barkley.

    Except that Leonard had no warm up fights. He had been beaten thoroughly and still arrived to the rematch with the attitude that nothing had happened. Duran entered like the challenger needing to avenge his loss.
    It's not Leonard's fault that Duran was arrogant and a horrible binge eater (frequent consequence of poverty).

    No one ever did that to Duran. Not even close. Not even at Middleweight. Duran never sought to avenge the loss because he knew he couldn't. Duran of Montreal would have suffered the same fate.

    The only context is that Hearns had his number. Bad.

    You state your case well but I'm not persuaded.
    A 33 years old ex lightweight competing at light middle got ko'd by a thunderous punching near 6 feet 2 in Hearns.How shocking is that? The De Jesus fight was the main event at MSG relative unknowns do not headline there.ps Hearns was a 2/1 favourite to beat Duran.
    Cuevas had already been destroyed by Hearns and had lost his last fight to so/so Roger Stafford he was in decline as his subsequent results proved.

    De Jesus decisively beat and floored the reigning unbeaten champion who was an overwhelming favourite to win.
    Hearns was a 2/1 favourite to beat Duran.
