Taylor was hard to beat even though he boxed like just picked it up. He was only down on the cards in the Pavlik rematch and against Abraham. He was way up with a minute or two left against Froch. And he still was pretty good in his comeback, winning a title, but was too erratic outside the ring to keep boxing. I suspect he has CTE but never heard about drugs.

Pavlik was one of my favorite fighters. It’s too bad he never lived up to his potential, but he seems to be doing well today.

Pavlik vs Taylor 1 is one of the best Middleweight fights of the last 30 years i do think Pavlik gets a bit underrated nowadays. He had good technical ability very exciting style and a good jab and lethal right hand.

He should've never moved up to Light Heavyweight and fought Hopkins, that seemed to dent his confidence somewhat not to mention the drinking problems he was having outside the ring.

I have seen some recent interviews with him he seems to have bulked up alot and looks in a good place.

The drinking really did him in and to my understanding began after winning the title. The article I mentioned earlier discussed the development of his drinking problem and all the events he would go to and all the people that would want to drink with him and celebrate and it seemed like the train never stopped

I think Taylor quite clearly has brain damage his personality seemed to completely change. I was watching the countdown to Hopkins versus Taylor recently and bits and pieces of that fight and I remember in the build-up show his mother speaking about how she didn't want him to box because of what happens to Fighters and she was a nurse. It was eerie seeing that fear come true when you consider how far he's fallen

He was seconds away from beating froch, while I don't remember what my score was for the Abraham fight he did well in that fight maybe I just don't like the style that Abraham employees but I felt like Taylor won rounds

I would’ve liked to have seen a Martinez rematch. He was in that fight and showing pretty good form, but the cut gave Martinez an edge. I think he’d made so much money that he petered off after that since he wasn’t getting big fights. A lot is made of the alcohol with him, but I think his record would’ve looked the same even if he never drank. It never caused him the same level of inactivity as Jermall Charlo, for example.
