    !. Joe Frazier

    2. Sugar Ray Robinson

    3. Pipino Cuevas

    4. Bob Foster

    5. Gerry Cooney

A lot of great "hookers" here. I would say Cooney, Frazier and Cuevas had wrecking ball type hooks capable of crushing bodies and bones. Foster and Robinson were more of the lights out variety. Touch choice here. What's the consensus?

This is tough. If we get down to it it's between Frazier and Robinson, but all things considered I'm not sure who to choose.

Joe Frazier. And Ray Leonard and Michael Spinks were no slouches either in the left hook department.

P4p it has to be Bob Foster, followed closely by Frazier's whip.

Cooney had the HARDEST left hook I've ever seen, but power is one of the least important attributes in boxing. Robinson had a great all-round hook and Cuevas obviously had a jaw droppingly/jaw breakingly good left hook, but Foster & Frazier had truly exceptional hooks in terms of both effectiveness and technique.

Cuevas, lb for lb. It's the one thing he could do. Many a broken mandible left in this hook's wake.

Cuevas had 10 KO's in 11 title defenses including some stout chinned fellers like Pete Ranzany and Campanino, and like I said, a whole lot of broken jaws. Under-appreciated title run and all because of his left hook.

I dont get why you people are going for a LHW that couldn't knock out heavies with his hook instead of the LHW that made it his business to do so....

Bob Foster was a great puncher at LHW, how well did it carry up? Now compare that to Langford...

If the word is devastating and not best then maybe Cooney deserves more mentions, although I still think Foster would deserve a nod over him.
