frazier i'm having trouble with to. it was typically more of a water crashing against rocks than a one shot bomb. the two best lefts i ever saw him land: ali 1 and ellis 1, the opponents got up after. it ground you down, was versatile (in terms of placement) and was thrown with speed and accuracy. but did it send you to sleep right when it landed? not like fosters. and it didn't tear your ****ing face off like most agree cuevas' did
Frazier will win this easily because he is the most exposed of the fighters mentioned . Apart from Bob Foster, [ who was a LHVY anyway, ] people need to ask themselves which class heavyweight, in his prime ,did Frazier actually ko? Answer NONE. Frazier was a hard cumulative puncher , but ,imo not in the first tier of heavy - duty bangers, he wore you down by throwing that hook incessantly, he didn't get you out with one shot. Cuevas wrecked you, so did Foster who left opponents like corpses on the canvas. Robinson took out the highly durable Fullmer with ONE LEFT HOOK, Frazier could not even floor his heavyweight version of Fullmer [Bonavena]in two fights, something that Ellis, Folley ,and Ali managed .
Totally agree but the consensus seems to be elsewhere. Are people unaware of the devastation Cuevas and his hook put on the division? And a pretty talented division at that?
They are not options on this thread though ,are they? I would have put Dempsey in the mix myself, along with Fitz White Lausse Olivares etc.
EXACTLY! also for me Pintor, Duran, Briscoe, Weaver (great left hook and underrated by all. his left hooks undreerneith to Coetzee were awesome in one of my favorite ever heavyweight title fights), Braxton (not Qawi) he fought better as Braxton. also Jones and Basilio and the Z boys.
