Not the most effective... a lot of fighters had it... but the one that is the perfect example of the perfect textbook technique into the left hook... ever.

For example, Robinson had a amazing left hook (I´m thinking about the Fullmer knockout), but someone like Donald Curry had a most picture perfect left hook than Ray (I´m thinking about the McCrory knockout)... I don´t know.

I mean, if you had to show someon ewhat the perfect hook was ? It wouldn´t be Ray Robinson... IMO not Frazier either !! Trinidad had a better left hook than Frazier in terms of punching technique alone.

Joe Louis is a good pick, close but no cigar though if you ask me...

DLH's was a thing of beauty as was Cotto's. Hearns had a great left hook to the body, but I can't come to think of many great ones to the head. Frazier's, of course....

I can’t think that anyone could throw a more textbook left hook than Alexis Arguello.

For evidence, watch the ones he threw against Alfredo Escalera, particularly in the second fight as it was the knockout punch.

Esteban Dejesus. Canelo has a pretty great one as well.

If you look at the one Frazier floored Ali with, the way he drives into it, the alignment of his arm and shoulder, it really was perfect

Tyson too because of the way Cus drilled technique into him

And while they weren't known for it as their signature punch, Holyfield and Hagler

Morrison deserves a shout too, his technique was always sharp

Good call. Honestly, everything AA did was textbook/perfect.

I'll have a think about it later but Bob Foster is in the mix. It was beautifully thrown and had even more power P4P than Arguello's which is certainly saying something.

Hmmm really hard to go past Frazier for me - was it textbook? Maybe not but my god it was beautiful to watch.

Gerry Cooney, Mickey Ward and Nonito Donaire also deserve consideration.

I liked the DLH and Arguello mentions, just what I was looking for.

Hard to think of other moments when a left hook decapitated people as his did Tiger and Quarry.

Watch Joe Louis throw 3 straight left hooks to blast out Baer, perfection.

Frazier's hook was really hard but I would not train a new fighter to throw it like he did. Off balance a lot and way too wide.

Tyson had a really nice hook that is a good example of how to get leverage into a hook. Morrison as well, his left against Ruddock was awesome.

I'd say in terms of just a perfect technique left hook? De La Hoya.

Nonito Donaire had such a slick timing. In terms of the best lead hook I've ever seen single shot? Donaire vs. Darchinyan (I couldn't decide between his slick KOs of Montiel/Vic, both so amazing). The way Donaire can weave his left hand outside of your hand and whip it back in with a devastating hook that is a real KO shot is truly one of the best techniques I've seen in boxing ever. He was constantly setting this technique with Vic, every awkward lunge Vic did, Nonito would try and time him with a hook. When he found it I don't think I've ever seen a force on force collision executed so perfectly.

Morrison, Frazier and Tyson were specialists as to that shot.
