And then you think about how Golden Boy Promotions was officially handling PBF's negotiations for the Pac fight?

But what exactly to they have to gain from this fight going through? Are they even gonna get a cut from the fight? not from Pac's end, and probably not from PBF's end either...

And then the fight doesn't go through and look what comes out of it? PBF vs a GBP fighter.

It's really weird to think of all the time it will take to make this fight huge.
3 months might not have been enough for it.

They might be smarter than all of us in not making it happen quite yet.

Floyd Mayweather had the most to gain from this fight not happening why ????? , because he wont be getting battered like Oscar , Hatton & Cotto !!!!!

The man didnt want the fight from the word go , everybody in boxing knows that , he was backed into a corner and had to take the Mosley fight , which again took an eternity to get signed and sealed !!!!!

    I think Mayweather and GBP.

If Mayweather loses his 0, where is the draw for his fights? As his fans always say, he's the bad guy and people will pay to see him lose. Once he's lost, he won't have the same appeal and boxing fans who dislike him won't pay to see a second defeat. He'd be a good draw after losing but his fall from grace would be massive.

As for Pacquiao, he only has one or two fights left after Clottey, and the same if he'd fought Mayweather, so if he loses, it's not that important. He will always attract the Filipino population in America and if he fought in the Phillipines, it'd still be enormous. Obviously his drawing power would suffer but he has a more loyal fanbase so it wouldn't be as bad.

Surely you're not suggesting Schaeffer torpedoed the negotiations and deviously planned to have Berto step aside through financial persuation, corner Floyd, and keep all the money inhouse.

the fact is neither pacquiao or mayweather truly wanted the fight because if they did it'd be happening.every time one obstacle was overcome another would appear.

that's exactly what I'm suggesting as a possibility.

1- Mosley is a GBP fighter, probably their most popular one.

2- Judah pulled the "drug test" thing on Mosley, Schaeffer told him to **** off. 1 year later Schaeffer is negotiating for Floyd and he pulls that same move on Pac.

3- Mayweather isn't giving a cut of his revenue to GBP. You can bet your ass that. If he payed them to negotiate for the Pac fight, that's possible. But he sure as hell wasn't gonna let them in on the PPV. So GBP didn't have anything to gain from making that fight happen.

4- Mosley was encouraged into the ring by Hopkins.

5- Berto pulls out of the Mosley fight but instead of postponing it, Mosley vs Floyd gets made. And you know what? Berto is probably gonna be fighting in April, so its not like was is unavailable to fight on May1st.

6- Floyd Sr trained Hatton for the Pac fight. Hatton was a GBP fighter at that time. After that fight Floyd Sr is screaming that Pac is on roids but you know what, I wouldn't be surprised if Schaeffer is the one who whispered that **** into Floyd's gullible ears.

As for the thing about the earthquake... If its not the earthquake, its an injury. If its not an injury, its something else. Don't forget that Berto and Floyd have the same manager. Al Haymon knows which fight will bank him more money, he's not an idiot. If Berto loses to Mosley, Haymon takes a big hit and for waht? Much more profitable to have Floyd vs Mosley.
