    Impossible to say.
Tyson could take a real beating before taken out, Toney never sustained such a beating.

I have a hard time calling this as well. James Toney seemed to be able to take any shot in history but that was paired with great slickness to buffer the blow. Mike Tyson however, has taken INSANE amount of shots on his chin and still remained standing, yes Mike got knocked out in his career but he took shots that Toney never took. Does anyone think Toney could have taken the shots that Mike took in his career and stay up?

I have to go with Mike. You're right. It takes a lot of punishment before he's taken out. Toney also has a really good chin, but his slickness allows him to roll with the punches a lot better.

Great point. The two times I seen James hit the canvas were more balance issues against Jones and Peter. Some of the shots I seen Tyson take against Douglas and Razor, Toney would of probably dropped at some point. In the first Peter fight, Toney was clearly rocked and ready to go. Lucky for Toney, Peter chose to smother his punches and not take a step back when he seen his opponent was a hard punch or two away from going out. For me, it's too close to call.

Without a doubt Toney Tyson had a good chin but it's not on the same level as Toneys. Toney is a ****ing middleweight but his chin withstands all sorts of punishment even when he's old shot fat brain damaged and fighting at Hw or Cw

Tough to say. When Tyson got stopped, he absorbed pretty hellacious beatings before hitting the canvas. Toney never took punishment like that. He did shrug off some wicked shots, but he never was subjected to a sustained beating like Tyson.

tyson had the better chin. he took shots from the very best and never went over. tyson had to be chopped down over a period of time before being stopped late.

toney would have had his **** knocked the **** out by the shots of lewis and ruddock. and early. he ain't taking them shots. he had a great chin, but not that great.

Toney is a fat middleweight who moved up and took Sam Peters best punch and never got knocked out. End thread now

Toney. From middleweight to heavyweight. Only seen him hurt vs Reggie Johnson in his career.
He is so messed up now he probably couldn't feel a sledgehammer.

Tyson had a great chin. Toney has a chin that you could say number 1 ever.

Tyson gets my vote on the simple fact that Toney used steriods as a HW...I know some may think that steriods may not strenghten your chin but its also benefits you in the amount of work you put in condition properly...If you're properly conditioned, it will also help in taking shots.

So, with those simple facts...Tyson gets my vote.

Personally I would pick Toney however his defense comes into play when considering his chin.

Did Whitaker, Lucche, Pep have good chins? God knows, they hardly ever got hit!!

However Toney has been in with some bombers, and in his older age still looking like he can take a puncher.

Tyson was knocked out in his prime by a nobody.
