im going with jones, i dont think hopkins has much of a chance because he just doesnt have enough in the tank to go the full 12 with a guy as relentless as kelly is at this point in their careers... i have kelly winning a UD just on effort and workrate alone and sure he will be countered all night but he'll be coming forward and working and at least TRYING to make a fight of it

i think jones has more of a shot only because calzaghe is almost as old and is starting to show some wear (he was gassed in the bika fight and looked terrible in the hopkins fight -- granted, this was mostly because of bernard's tactics but still calzaghe looked terrible)... and there is a chance (a 0.0*% as TFFP pointed out), that we'll see glimmers of the roy of old...

so basically, we know what we're gonna get out of hopkins and i don't think that's enough to beat pavlik right now... but we don't 100% know what we're gonna get out of jones (or calzaghe) and that's why i believe there's a greater chance of an upset for roy

objectively speaking, i dont see either happening

I understand why most are picking Hopkins as having a better chance of pulling an upset but I have to go ahead and say Jones does. Two years ago I would've said Hopkins but after watching Hopkins fade and resort to all that low blow crap against Calzagay, I think age has finally caught up to him. Yeah, hes always in great shape but Kelly is a young Lion who can go twelve and be strong later in the fight. I've always said that Calzaghe is a poor man's Roy Jones. He basically does everything a prime Roy did except not nearly as well because you can't compare the speed, reflexes or punching power of the two. I honestly believe a motivated RJJ (which he will be extremely motivated for this fight) will outpoint Slappy Joe and take his "0" from him. I see Hopkin's losing via UD...probably 7-5 in an incredibly ugly fight or possibly getting stopped in the 10th-11th round.

I picked Jones as he will be coming to fight Joe whereas Hopkins will once again be defeated trying to ruin a fight
I wish Joe and Kelly the best of luck in their respective bouts with old men

Jones by a light year. Calzaghe is getting up there, and its doubtful that he can rock Jones. Jones could outbox him, whereas Freddie Roach has abandoned Hopkins. This is the same Roach who has been training the 500 lb gorilla that is James Toney, back even when he fought monster punching Peter.

    Jones.

Honestly I think Hopkins is gonna get Knocked out. He is not going to have the energy to hang out with a young puncher who will not show him any mercy at all.

Roy can win if he fights a very intelligent fight.

Hopkins has the better chance. He's old but he's like the mongoose in the fact he can still win big fights this late in his career with his ring savvy and skills. Jones had trouble with Ajamu and beat a bloated up Trinidad. He hasn't looked impressive in years. Jones has little chance of winning this fight.
