Floyd Mayweather jr or Joe Calzaghe? Rare to see anyone retire undefeated let alone two in one year? Joe says he will most likely retire in 08 and Floyd sounds like he is going to after hatton. I think if floyd retires after hatton he will come back in a year or two when he realizes nobody cares about him and i think Joe will stay retired after he does

I'd say Joe since he's already near the end of his career and there aren't a ton of great fighters around to test him.

Let's say they both fought 2 more times after Floyd fights Hatton.

    Floyd fights -

    Cotto, Williams/Cintron winner.

    Joe fights -

    Woods, Dawson.

I'd give Joe the bigger chance of retiring undefeated as I feel Cotto has a significant stylistic advantage over Floyd, as does Paul Williams, where as Calzaghe still retains the stylistic edge over Woods, Hopkins, Dawson, Erdei, Johnson etc. at LHW.

ODLH and Hatton are safe opponents? Who's dangerous?

Honestly, probably neither. Champions always fight too long and get knocked off. Calzaghe is at the top of his game right now, but he is 35. He'll keep fighting and sooner or later get bumped off.

Mayweather will eventually slow down and get beat. Just not by Hatton.

Joe Calzaghe has a better chance of keeping his 0. As he will have less fights than floyd. Plus the divison that floyd is in has the most good/great fighters in it. Joe's only has 2 that would be a challenge to him whillst he still has his attributes.

Mayweather has the best chance of retiring undefeated, because he is far and away the best today, of any fighter in the world. Calzaghe is the best in his division.

He just came off of dancing with the stars and now he's fighting a dangerous opponent in hatton. Dancing with the stars is no walk in the park. WHile he's dance, Hatton is training. DEC 8th we'll see if this extra activity will affect his boxing against Hatton. Floyd's run isn't as easy as you're making it out to be. He also fought DLH at 154 which was unknown territory for him and still won. As good as Calzaghe is how many times has he moved up in weight class against an elite fighter? As for Judah, nobody faces him thinking its going to be an easy win. Even if he loses he's still a dangerous fighter for anyone.

You may have point with Bruseles, but not with Judah/Baldomir. If you recall, Baldomir chose to fight Gatti, and PBF fought Judah because--despite the loss--they had already had a fight set up. It did pretty good PPV too, if you recall. He then did fight Baldomir. Then he fought Oscar and now he's fighting Hatton. This "ducking Margarito" business has to stop. I like Tony a lot as a fighter, but he doesn't win four rounds against PBF.

Nobody goes out on top if that is what you mean - If your 0 doesn't go, either you are ducking opposition or you retire soon enough. Joe Calzaghe and Floyd Mayweather can well retire when they want to, and comeback 10 years later to avenge a single loss, that doesn't prove anything at all and you all know that deeeeeeeeep down.

Agreed. No hate involved, but Floyd looks beatable. No offence to you fans out there.

Joe is just a great boxer with a LOT of skills and I can't see anyone beating him. Possibly Dawson, but I still favor Joe by a lot. Joe is really good. And this is comming from a Adamek fan. As Much as I hate to say it.

Calzaghe stands a much better chance of retiring unbeaten because floyd has tougher guys around his division.

They are both the top 2 boxers in the world at the moment, floyd has an edge technically but to me Joe`s style is more effective as in he can fight & box, I dont believe floyd can fight well if forced to but his pure boxing is so good that we may never know, hopefully hatton can shed some light on the heart & brawling skills of floyd.

For me, Calzaghe is the man right now, floyd would have his hands full if joe was in floyd`s division, believe me on that 1.
