Either that or he was just never any good. I'll go with the latter.

To answer the question, there have been many fighters that have plummeted from the world stage, or even elite status, after a devastating loss. Too many to name, really.

A big part of the Lacy story was that he never was "that good" anyway...he wasn't the great fighter people first hyped him to be..hence he's "shot" seems to be what some have thought. All really happend is he got exposed by a great fighter and the bubble burst! The illusion was over!

Fernando Vargas. I mention him because we know he was the goods, but just had it too much too soon. That Tito fight ruined him and it shows how good he was that he still competed.

Lacy was hugely overrated and Joe C Wales thankfully put us out of our misery.

Or perhaps Jeff Lacy was never good to begin with?

Yeah, Vargas is a Classic example but he was still competitive vs Dela Hoya althought he used steroids, so who knows

And the guy that mentioned David Reid, he wasn't shot, he had an eye problem to beggin with, Tito made it worst

    Can we add Meldrick Taylor?

Juan Diaz, his shine was lost after Nate Cambell fight and looks pretty shot.
Pavlik, and Mijares as well but none that I remember are as bad as Lacy.

Pavlik. Though he was always limited, away from the ring he has shot himself.
