Calling him a 205'er is pushing it, he could do it if he wanted, but not just through a normal cut, he would have to lose lean body mass. Especially at the time he was beating Nog, he was massive.

I think Fedor has less lean body mass than a lot of LHWs Forrest and Tito cheifly amongst them. Fedor is and was a big guy, but he has always been around 230, with a fair bit of fat guys like Griffin can get up to that weight and have more lean muscle and less fat than Fedor does. I think it would have been easy if he did it in stages, like went to 220, then 215ish, the to 205. He would not have to cut huge amounts of weight if he dropped the fat.

Fedor could make 205 easy, Tito, Rampge, Forrest all these guys walk around close to Fedor's weight with less fat.

I dont necessarily disagree that he could make 205. but praising Fedor for something he has never achieved is a bit silly in terms of the thread topic

What would that be then? Theres no praise of what Fedor could achive at 205lbs. Rather the fact its amazing how dominant he has been over the years considering he is undersized as a HW.

But being undersized is what gives him his greatest advantage at heavyweight imo. Namely speed and his reaction times

If you are choosing on the basis of dominance over opponents, then surely you must choose GSP? The guy has been on an unbelievable run over the last couple of years, barely losing a round to guys like Fitch, Koscheck, Hughes, Penn, Alves, etc. Even at his best, Anderson could get taken down and drop rounds (eg Travis Lutter fight). The current version of GSP has been insanely dominant for quite a long time now.

(PS: GSP is not my 1st choice btw, as you will see on the previous page)

Surprised no one has mentioned Hughes. Couldn't stand the guy and that was partly because of his dominance.

Good point, the only sticking point with GSP for me is his failuse to finish fights lately, even Anderson finished his kast fight after getting dominated for 4 and a half rounds, and although he didn't stopped Maia it just felt like he could have at any time.

BJ Penn has a lot of ability and a ton of confidence, but we've seen him crack.

Pierre is nearly unbeatable, but Serra made him fold.

Rua didn't show a lot of determination against Forrest.

Silva has been dominate for years, and showed a ton of heart in his last outing. I just don't think his resume in on par with Fedor's.

Fedor is the best I've seen in this business. I've never questioned his heart, conditioning, or determination. Against stronger fighters, Fedor won with speed. Against better submission artists, Fedor dealt out more damage. Against stronger wrestlers, Fedor became the submission fighter. Fedor used his timing to beat seemingly superiour strikers. When you couple Fedor's performances with the list of fighters he has defeated, there is no comparable fighter.
