Who has been the most overrated heavyweight of the 21st century so far?

I'll make a poll because I'm curious to find out what most people think.

    Wilder, by far.

Getting hyped as #2 or even #1 in the division at one point without even having beaten a contender (until possibly Ortiz, who may still not have been quite there), as an ATG puncher despite never breaking a serious chin, as a H2H nightmare despite essentially being a fringe contender with a punchers chance.

Plenty have been overhyped, but none to that ridiculous an extent.

That was said about Fury, Wilder, and Usyk as well. Hell, some even said Zhang would beat those guys before his downfall.

It is a subject that comes up often, in all weight classes. There's a good reason for this too, as we see guys nowadays not only getting considered for atg status after only one or two great performances, but confidently declared to beat the greats!

Back in the seventies and the eighties, we never talked like that about Fighters that didn't have enough fights to matter. We would wait to see how they would do and comment accordingly. As we watched True greatness develop before our eyes (Duran Leonard Hagler Hearns etc etc etc) we would often wonder if they were destined to become atgs, but nobody ever went around claiming they could beat atgs when they only had a couple of good performances under their belts.

Joyce because people said he'd beat Ali, prime Tyson, and compared him to George Foreman just for beating Parker.

Now don't get me wrong I like Joyce but he was always incredibly slow with no defence I have no idea what people see in him to hype him up that much.

    He's up there
Tried to watch that embarrassment against povetkin again the other night. Couldn't make it to the second round. Should have been disqualified

Wilder is ****, but basically everyone knows he’s ****, so he can’t be the most overrated.

Whereas AJ, to this day people talk about his resume as if it’s some mythical ATG resume, and back “prime AJ” in H2H match-ups against ATGs.

Wilder is a joke but if you’re asking specifically who is the most overrated, it is AJ.
