Very few people rate Wlad over Lewis. Maybe 1% of posters here if even that.

I am not sure who is most overrated depends on how you look at it.

I think a lot of these overrated claims are to just take a shot at fighters people don't like.

No one ever claimed Wilder had great boxing skills; his rating reflected what he was capable of: a huge punch, good speed, no fear.

People DID claim that Joshua had (even HAS) great boxing skills. This is simply not the case. We were sold the second coming of Klitschko or Lennox; a dominant HW champ. What we got was Frank Bruno.

Only been in this forum for over a year so going off what I've remembered.

Bakole was being super overrated at one point.

Itauma also being overrated as of now considering the opposition he has beaten. With Jared Anderson - even as I thought it was an okay performance myself, a lot of people was super critical of his performance against Charles Martin.

Will give it to Bakole even if not on the list. He was defo more overrated than Anderson.

Off that list I'd say Wilder by a fair amount but IMO he actually had something about him - made ten title defences if against soft opposition and was super dangerous in his prime and should have beaten better opposition than just Ortiz twice. With Joyce he did actually beat some genuinely good fighters in Parker and Dubois and controlled the fights well.

    I chose Deontay Wilder.

I realize he was never overrated by the hard-core, knowledgeable boxing fans like some of the posters on here.

But he was hyped as a great heavyweight by the boxing media and hence was very overrated by the many thousands of casual boxing fans.

    Klitschkos and Fury? Seriously?

Hell, in fact nobody should come close to Makhmudov. He was BY FAR the most overrated HW not only since 2000 but quite probably ever. I mean, he was labelled here as a next big thing, people here literally predicted he would destroy Fury. While in fact he happened to be a complete bum (and I always said he is one - guy just has absolutely zero boxing skills and IQ).

Makhmudov was light years more overrated than Joe Joyce. He struggled with ancient, inactive and overweight Takam whom Joyce knocked out a year before. And Joyce beat young former (Parker) and future (Dubois) world champions. Makhmudov never even came close to beating somebody like Bryant Jennings.

His level was obvious against Guido Vianello, who is borderline top 30 fighter at very best. Vianello won every second of every round against this dummy and stopped him in 8 utterly one-sided rounds

Wow, people calling (multiple) boxing champs hype jobs. Wilder and Joshua might not have lived up to their respective hopes, but they were world champs and feared.

To some degree I would call Seth Mitchell, David Price, Odlanier Solis hype jobs. Maybe Amir Mansour after his comeback

It's good that both Wilder & AJ are winning this poll because Wilder AJ was the biggest fight in boxing after Pacquiao Mayweather in 2015 and it never happened because to an extent both were puffs who ducked one another. It would have ended in a KO, no doubt and NOBODY can claim they know how it would have ended. I'd have favoured a prime Wilder to get his right hand on the target first....but easily could have been the other way.

After Fury boxed his head off without that 12th round Wilder would have been written off as a pure bum. Then after Fury at his peak did a demolition job for the ages again Wilder was tarnished to bum level only to rise again with his 3rd bout performance. This is merely boxing fans bieng fickle, quick to write off, dismissive and put people down. People even want to rewrite the facts. No doubt in his prime Wilder had a total silver bullet with his right hand and could have KO'd pretty much anyone, the acid test fans wanted was AJ Wilder because was fundementally decent but seemed soft whilst Wilder fundementall flawed but had that game changer. THEY NEVER FOUGHT which was a tradegy. Thankfully Fury & Usyk fought albiet both at the end of their lifespan but still showing how many levels they are ahead of their peers.

Perhaps but I think his accomplishments at heavyweight are pretty up there only ones who can compete are Lewis and Holmes (outside of Ali and Louis obv) and I think the cheating is a bit overblown truthfully speaking.
