Showtime and Shobox are not diferent by now a lot of prospect fighting on regular showtime and a good champion fighting a weak contender. Is just like showbox. The only good fight so far by Showtime was Vic vs Arce.

Good point although Adamek-Banks was very entertaining.

You understood him better than I did. Shobox has been increasing budgets for fights like Adamek-Banks, Caballero-Molitor, Bute-Andrade, Bute-Zuniga, but Championship Boxing is giving us Arce-Darch, Taylor-Froch. All great fights, just different budget levels. I may have misunderstood his point.

Again, keeping in mind the difference between each network's budgets and knowing that HBO has the top fighers at their disposal, take a look at some of Showtime fights the last few months. These are fights that actually mattered within a given division. Outside of Tarver, all of these guys are "prime" or close to it.

    Darchinyan/Arce
    Molitor/Caballero
    Mijares/Darchinyan
    Bute/Andrade
    Tarver/Dawson
Campbell/Guzman (Guzman's fault for not making weight)

    Also coming up:

    Bradley/Holt (Huge fight at LWW)
Taylor/Froch (I know most people in this board are dying for this one)

It's kind of a shame how HBO sometimes steals any home grown Showtime fighter as they have a much larger budget and can pay their fighters more money. They stole Dawson. They booted J. Taylor. You know their going to steal Gamboa, Dirrell, Ward, Bradley, etc as soon as they start blowing up. It's like Showtime spends all of their time developing these up and comers and once they get some recognition, HBO signs them.

On a dollar for dollar basis, i think Showtime is the superior network. They do more with less.

Most of the time HBO, but sometimes Showtime beats them, such as Vitali Vs. Peter.

HBO always made their fights into events more, but Showtime was more into whole cards. Both are good. But if you talk about quality of fights I would go with HBO. Boxing after Dark on HBO is similar to some of the showtime fights.

HBO should have shown Vitali's fights.

HBO does a much better job with the production value of their telecasts, therefore they've got my vote.
