Tua was far from a complete fighter and undoubtedly struggled at times with very ordinary fighters like David Izon and Jeff Wooden. He couldn't slip a jab to save his life but despite his flaws, he was a very dangerous fighter. He clearly had tremendous power in the left hook, an iron chin and was dangerous from the first bell to the last bell.

I personally had him winning the fight with Ibeabuchi, though it was close. And while he was often out boxed he showed he could turn the fight his way with late KO's.

As for him up against Povetkin. While Povetkin is the more skilled fighter I think Tua was all wrong for him. Povetkin would play right into Tua's hands, Tua hit harder and had a better chin and it's not like Povetkin is going to box him, he'll stand in front of him and trade and unless you have a chin like Ike that's always going to end up going badly.

Every fighter that beat Tua, except Chris Byrd would have stopped Povetkin. I suspect trying to convince you of that will be a waste of time, so I'll wait till after the Wilder fight next year.

Since the general consensus among many fans on this forum is that Wilder is a "glass jaw disgrace", hopefully when he beats this Russian fraud, you guys will stop making stupid hypothetical match-up between him and great fighters from the past, who's name he has no reason being mentioned along side.

I blame Wladimir Klitschko, had he sat down on his punches we won't have to hear about fat fraud and his disgraceful stupid fans and their dumb threads and prediction, because he would have KO the foc out out of Povetkin.

I guess I have to wait till next year when a fighter whom you guys claim is disgraceful glass jaw fraud ( Wilder) dishes out a reality check to you Povetkintans.

By the Way Tua would have left Povetkin, who in no way is the Iron chin warrior you guys will people believe, slumping down on the canvas in an awkward from one of his punches.

Lol k..... "Trying to convince me" Only one I see stopping Povetkin is Lewis.

Speaking of frauds...... Funny you have the nerve to call Povetkin one, while being an ardent supporter of Wilder.:rofl

It appears Tuardism is still a rampant problem on boxing forums, I hear a cure is being worked on. Hopefully it will come sooner rather than later!

It's not as rampant as the severe Povetkinism that has devastated this since Povetkin stopped that Syrian refugee.

Yep, heaps of people seem to underrate him still.

One of the all time greats he is absolutely not, but a prime Tua versus Povetkin would be an interesting match.

Yep.... Nothing to do with how he stopped Takam, and Perez at all either.... Wilder on the other hand has gone 20+ rounds with Molina, and Duhaupas :rofl

The people who overrate Tua, and see as some h2h god are a lot worse than the people who underrate him. Tua was a good HW with crushing power, but he was limited and struggled with good boxers, especially those with a nice jab.

Povetkin's jab however is his weak side, average at best

    .... and styles make fights.

From what I've seen of Povetkin he'd be in a dangerous fight against a prime Tua.

Saying "he struggled against those with a good jab" means that was a problem, but in his first 10 years (at the end of which he was letting himself get out of shape and becoming less of a threat) his only losses were to Ike Ikeabuchi, Lennox Lewis and Chris Byrd. That wasn't for lack of fighting big names.

Glass jaw Maskaev was able to go almost 12 rounds with and outbox Tua for much of it........

Povetkin doesn't possess that type of skill that you just mentioned to beat a guy like Tua.
