Your appraisal of Kessler and Lacy and Hopkins as fighters "anyone" could go undefeated against makes sense to everyone else?

    I doubt it.

Well if you read the post where I answer your question, my first in this thread, you see that I don't say any of this at all.

In the beggining I mention how Hopkins is an old fighter now. I am not taking anything away from him. Lacy was over-rated and never delivered. Kessler is a good fighter but has yet to prove where he stands.

    I agree.

But only a very good fighter would take on all three and win.

OK then, many people have kelly pavlik in their top 10 P4P list - what justifies this? beating taylor twice, beating miranda, last fight against GARY LOCKETT!. Yet he has 34 wins and he has only beat one world class opponent (taylor) a good opponent (miranda) and other respectable opponents.

So what is the difference from Calzaghe, apart from the fact Calzaghe has been champion for many years, unified the division, moved up in weight and won. He has fought world class opponents, kessler, hopkins(past his best, but if pavlik beats him im sure it will be mentioned in a positive manner) and eubank (past his best). Good opponents like lacy, bika, mitchell, veit etc. and other respectable opponents.

So why not have Calzaghe in at least the top 5?

In Calzaghe vs Lacy i picked Lacy because i had never heard of Calzaghe, thats it. And i picked Calzaghe to beat todays Hopkins.

shame about calzaghe i mean at 37 undefeated at 45-0, world champion for ten years and still people don't rate him. Sick of being called a yank(i'm from northern ireland not that it matters.) just because i don't think Joe is the best fighter in the world.i mean about 4 years ago nobody was interested in calzaghe and for good reason lots of fights were plain awful. He had his chance to be great but lets be honest when clinton woods was fighting roy jones in 2002 clazaghe was getting ready to fight Tocker Podwill. disgraceful

To me it compares to Calzaghes record. So if Pavlik beats Hopkins, he will reach Calzaghe in the rankings? What do you think?

I was never a Lacy fan and i think Calzaghe exposed Lacy. Lacy is was over-rated and we have today to prove it.

Well if you had never haerd of Calzaghe until he fought Lacy, then that explains why you don't know anything about Calzaghe or how good he is.

I'm from Canada, but i had heard about Calzaghe way before he fought Lacy.

And you picked Calzaghe to beat Hopkins back in April? I don't believe you.

    I don't think he will -

i have mentioned 3 world class fighters calzaghe has beat compared to pavlik's one (two if he beats hopkins)

I have also mentioned that he has fought better 'good' fighters than pavlik has.

So no, i don't think he wil go above Calzaghe - not to say i'm not a fan of Pavlik's because i am!
