Who has come the closest to fighting like Wolgast?

    I personally don't see that much similarity but they certainly are both really fun to watch.

    Thank you for the (too) kind words.

    I rate Wolgast #4 all time at Flyweight, his resume at that weight is outstanding. He's somewhat under appreciated/acknowledged today, but as a Flyweight from c.90-years ago who never won THE title, that's only to be expected.

    In terms of style, I think he was unique. You could argue parallels with Canzernori - neither punchers (though Tony had more pop than Wolgast), both rhythm breakers, who deployed unconventional movement (of body, head and feet), seemingly without patterns - yet both too distinctive in the detailed execution of their styles to be considered alike, too each other, or any other fighter, imo.

    Wolgast was probably more of a defensive specialist, though he could fight on the front foot, albeit he was never static on that front foot. Perhaps a hybrid of Jose Napoles (without the power) and Nicolono Locche is a way to describe his style to someone who has never seen footage of him. Even then, I'm not sure that adequately captures the essence of his style.
