    We differ on this, DP.

I thought Benitez won the fight handily, as did most ringside observers and media personalities. Citing the official scorecards, which you yourself acknowledge were questionable at best, isn't a terribly convincing argument in my opinion.

Not a hugely important distinction in any case. Duran would have always defeated Palomino.

Coming into the Benitez fight, he was on a 19 fight unbeaten streak (he had meagre career for the era, only 31 fights) and hadn't lost since 1974. Benitez needed to have put serious hurt on him to beat him out of his prime and Benitez was never capable of something like that. I had it 144-41 for Wilfredo, but it wasn't a war from any angle. Ridiculous to think he would be out of his prime just 5 months later. It's not like he retired because he was slipping or anything. Some posters are plain ridiculous with their narratives.

I said one of the scorecards was bad the others were fine IMO.

I don't think Palomino has a case for winning the fight, but he won his fair share of rounds it wasn't a blowout.

The way your describing it is like it was Napoles vs Cokes clinic it wasn't that one sided, it was a competitive that Benitez clearly won but Palomino won atleast 5 or 6 rounds.

Palomino was on a good win streak prior to Benitez fight, I just think he happened to run into good versions of Benitez, Duran, more so than Palomino being past his prime to be honest.

Post Palomino's fiasco between the Benitez and Duran fight, and i might put some stock into your narrative. Otherwise it's just noise.

Don't forget how you lost your s**t when I posted the mob's testimony on the Moore-Duran fight because apparently it takes credit away from Hearns (even though it actually has a source), while you are applying all mental gymnastics to turn Palomino into some boxer who was slipping hard and retired right after because of it, all because Duran had a dominant victory over him. The agenda couldn't be more obvious.

Weren't you also parading the Duran-Viruet 1 scorecards when it fit your agenda? Most media and journalists had Duran winning atleast by 7 rounds in that fight. But it seems you abandoned that because right now it makes Golden boy's victory over Benitez look less great, by making Benitez look less great coming into the fight.

    It’s all good mate.

I was just baiting no name into revealing his double standard. A bit juvenile of me I know, so I apologise.

Lol. The biggest double-standard bearer is accusing other people. You can't score fights for s**t. I might have to rewatch Benitez-Leonard again because me agreeing with you on that makes me doubt my scoring.

i think ross is the standout from those 3.

no disrespect to the other guys, great fighters, ross was slick, not much of a puncher but he threw everything. non filmed stuff says benny leonard was better. i don't see how he could have been.

Cotto deserves a mention, he had a really rough career. Had he been born 10 years later he would have been far more protected

Do you think there's an argument for Moore still being pre prime? Yes, that sounds bonkers for a guy in his early 30's in the 40's, but he still had losses to no name fighters during those years. His 50's run where he didn't lose to anyone who wasn't of really high quality, and even few of those, was still some years off.

fair point there. moore was something special.

remove the moore fights and charles still might have the best record ever.

As much as I dislike his fights, Hopkins faced a ton of great fighters in the midst of their primes

RJJ, ODLH, Trinidad, Joppy, Taylor, Dawson Kovalev, Tarver, Slappy Joe. Probably missing another couple.
