He DID call out Cotto and I remember it VERY well because I saw the article and clips about it after it happened. Floyd was also interviewed and he said that Hatton didn't want the fight and Cotto's team made it clear they're too green(which Floyd said he agreed with and now everyone is saying he started it) for Floyd so he said he's moving up to Welterweight to fight the undisputed champion in Judah instead.
I read that, that's the recent article about the subject and have seen it already. Have you seen the article and interviews about it during the time it happened?, that's what I read/saw more than once. First Floyd goes after Hatton and gets a "I'll be ready after 2 fights" then switches to Cotto and gets a "Too green" message. Then he moves up for Judah since there were far too many options back then. Also when Cotto's team claimed they're too green not many fans disagreed or called Floyd a coward, Cotto WAS too green and just won the WBO title at Jnr. Welterweight. Don't believe all articles 100%, Floyd said that because he AGREED with Cotto's people at the time. There were live interviews that I saw, various articles ALL agreeing that since Cotto is too green and Hatton doesn't want it then it's the best decision to move up and fight Judah in a fight MANY claimed is far bigger than a fight with Hatton. You honestly believe that the Jnr. WW version of Cotto would've been trouble?, watch how he fought back then and watch how he does now then come back to me please.
"Were rivals, Cotto said. Mayweather is a star of the sport and were in the same company. Mayweather was a great champion at 130 and 135. We dont know about 140. When the company says the time is right to make the fight, Ill fight him. I think it's a good fight. I know Mayweather's a great fighter. But I know I can beat him." ----- Read that properly please and tell me if it's hard to understand. :good
I'm not disputing that Cotto wasn't green...he was, but I disagree on what you said about his team saying it.
If you really read the article that I pasted...Arum was going to replace gatti with Cotto if Gatti/Floyd didn't come through. You can't compare my article with yours. The statement that you posted is the same **** cotto says about every opponent...that's nothing new and you know that. I think my evidence proves that Floyd didn't call out Cotto...all you did was post Cotto's trademark response about every fighter they ask him about.
Mosley would be similar to Oscar, but Mosley doesn't fade as much in the later rounds in my opinion, and packs just as hard a punch as Oscar.
Yes he DID call for Cotto when Hatton declined and there was no one else left at 140 and didn't get the fight simply because Cotto was too green and that came from everyone including Cotto's team. The title of the damn article says it all. "Mayweather Jr. Challenges Tszyu, De La Hoya and Cotto" All those guys were called out and for various reasons they weren't officially set.
but the article itself says otherwise...why can't you understand it. You're looking for clues and hidden symbols to support your theory...wtfatsch The article is very clear, just accept it or post something concrete proving me wrong.:deal
It's only logical that I can't dig for information and articles that took place too long ago, you had to be here to see it yourself. Floyd wanted that fight and got a "too green" message which he agreed to and went ont to do other things, I believe Arum would've mentioned something about it rather than mention Margarito over and over after Floyd split with him, the only reason he's mentioning both now is because he knows Cotto is ready now. The facts are clear and out there if you want them, there's no need for articles(which DID exist, including live interviews with different people). Your article hardly proves your statement 100% correct, they wouldn't say Floyd "CHALLENGED" them all if he didn't really do it and Cotto wouldn't have said he'll fight Mayweather "WHEN" his team say he's ready for it if he was.
He called out DLH for a rematch. He backed up. Calling out means nothing for Mayweather since he knows he will back up if it comes true. It was clear that DLH could have won the rematch.
The fact of the matter is that today, Cotto, Margarito, Williams are the best welterweights today. I haven't seen Floyd fight them yet. So if he says he is the best, he must meet and beat the best of the rest. I still think that the winner of Cotto-Margarito should be named the number one welterweight in the world.
