good poll/question my first though was ali,jones,mayweather... but camacho earlier on gets my vote, camacho v paz a good example.
Well that would be hard to say lol he basically does it in a lot of fights.. he can throw his jab and jump back out of the way backwards.. he does a lil double step with his lead foot.. its something I really dont see any other fighters do.. he uses it to set up his jab so his opponent sometimes think the jab is coming and then do another lil step and pop him with a jab in the body or to the head from many angles.. difficult to explain since I dont see many fighters do it
MUHAMMAD ALI OF THE 60s had the best footwork in any division in boxings history. A league of his own in this department IMO.
If you can ever see a film of a prime Willie Pep, like in the Chalkey Wright championship fights or against Sal Bortolo, you'll see text book foot work.
Yeah, sure. :nut Well, another not very praised fighter should be mentioned here: Sven Ottke. That guy had very very good footwork and could judge distance like very few could. And, yeah, i´m waiting for some irrational bashers who read Ottke and start to flame without thinking.
Naz did make what was a weak-tit featherweight division at the time look sick with his footwork, granted.
I agree with this. However, there are so many great fighters with great footwork. Used in different ways. It is hard to judge, Jones had great offensive footwork. I could not choose who the best would be. Calzaghe does have great footwork. Whitaker's subtle ability to move his feet to get out of range was fantastic, despite the fact that most of his defense was built upon upper body movement.
