Me. They beat better fighters and have superior top-to-bottom resumes.

I rank Greb #1, just look at his quality of opposition. Robinson's was amazing, however I gotta go with Greb on this one. I just wish someone could find some of his fight tapes. If you skim down his record it's a virtual who's-who of that entire era. It's so impresive that it doesen't seem possible for anyone to fight so many top fighters, an at that pace to.

These two are neck an neck to me. I use to read up on both but sadly have stopped follwing boxing for years, just getting back into it. Grebs encounter with Tunney earn huge points to me.

    1. Armstrong
    2. Greb
    3. Robinson
    4. Charles
    5. Langford

I think Greb and Robinson are basically interchangeable, but I usually have Langford just a spot or two lower.

But I think a case could be made for any of the fighters listed above as being the #1 all time.

    Langford
    Greb
    Robinson
    Armstrong

Any order is OK by me with these four.

    Fitzsimmons
    Charles

These two have slighter cases, but you could make the case.

    Robinson
    Langford
    Greb

Are the only fighters who have a genuine case to be the greatest ever in my mind.

Charles & Armstrong just miss the cut, with Fitz right behind them.

Pep should be in there. In his prime, he the most skilled boxer of all time.

That's like saying Fitz or Ketchel should be in there just because they were the hardest punchers of all time.

Pep had the resume and longevity as well, and he ducked no one. He ruled one division an ENTIRE decade...that coming off a broken back from a plane crash! He has the big elite win, has a bunch of other very good wins, and has countless number of good wins.

Skill wise, he is the best. The very best. Footwork, movement, use of angles, skills, defense, timing. The best.

    So did Fitz.

As opposed to ruling MULTIPLE divisions, as others named in this thread have done.

Which is inferior to having MULTIPLE big elite wins, as others in this thread have done.

Better than Jack Britton or Abe Attel?
