I know this gets done a lot on here but its nice to see how people's opinions change and how new posters feel about who has had the better career.

Let's see who does better PPV figures when their career ends.

Ricky fighting Floyd/Pac > All of Froch's fights combined

Are we comparing PPV figures or their careers and the level they have boxed?

Just because you can draw a big viewing audience doesn't mean much in terms of your career, Bernard Hopkins has fought the best in loads of divisions and I bet his PPV figures wouldn't be that great, all of the big PPV figures of his would be when people are paying to see someone else fight ie De La Hoya

I liked Ricky as a fighter but never believed he was an elite fighter, he could mix it with great fighters but I never believed he could beat Manny or Floyd, he was also lucky against Collazo to get the win. His following was due to a couple of things, his style was exciting and every fight he was involved it had drama, this appealed to the casual boxing fan that is only interested in all action fights. The other was he seemed like a down to earth, normal guy who went to the pub with his mates, played darts and was easily accessible to all fans.

The best fighters both have boxed imo,

Froch: Wins against Lucien Bute, Jermain Taylor, Arthur Abraham, Jean Pascal
Beat by Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler but beat Kessler in a return

Hatton: Wins against Kostya Tszyu, Luis Castillo,Paulie Malignaggi
Beat by Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao

There are other fighters that could be argued but I think they are the ones that are remembered from either career

It will always be debated but I edge Carl Froch, just because he seemed to fight the best without the real promotional backing because he couldn't bring the same revenue's as Ricky Hatton. Carl fought wherever he had to and won. Take nothing away from Ricky Hatton though he has gave me some great memories from his career and I hope he can help others get teh breaks he did

Hatton's win over Tszyu is bigger and better than anything on Froch's resume. Hatton, unlike Froch, has actually proven to be the number one in his weight division.

Hatton for me in every way. Huge fights, beat good fighters, won multiple titles and at 2 different weight classes, and made a vast amount of money.

Froch has had a great career, but not on Hattons level. Similar talent wise and not far off in terms of opposition but that's where it ends.

Hatton, by far. That bodyshot KO of Castillo > Froch-Taylor/Bute. Making Kostya quit (who's timing looked better than ever in prev fight v Mitchell) > squeezing by totally shot fighters (Abraham, Johnson, Kessler). Beating Mayweather after six rounds > losing every minute against Ward. Losing to Pacman > losing to Andre Dirrell. Phillips/Collazo/Urango/Malignaggi/Magee > Pascal/Mack/Magee. Etc.

Only trolls would pick Hatton. This poll shouldn't be close at all.

    Castillo was a faded fighter.

    Bute was a champion.
Taylor had only lost to Pavlik and the rematch was close.

Abraham had only lost by disqualification. Johnson and Kessler weren't that either.

Castillo was in the 'lb4lb' lists quite high up at the time of the fight.

Bute was a deer in headlights with an alphabet belt who hadn't fought anyone.

Taylor was boxing Carl's ears off, unless you were watching another fight.

Abraham was a flat-footed, blown-up middleweight with a short reach; Froch a long, rangey, arm-punching big guy. Johnson a boiled-down light-heavy in his 40s, and Kessler was at his best in about '05-'06.

Clearly Carl, Not knocking Ricky but really when you break down his actually fights, Tszyu is the only really great great win, Malignaggi has been beaten several times not amazing but decent fighter, Scraped through Callazo who was beaten by Berto, Utterly outclassed and destroyed by both Pacman and Mayweather, now oviously they are the best of the very best and better then anyone Froch has fought, however Froch has the better record against top guys and who knows is still fighting so he may do even more, Ricky had the way way bigger inpact and god if only we had a guy like him atm but taking it on boxing terms alone Froch is the clear winner although Ricky should be very proud of what he did

Froch without question...other than beating Kostya Tzyu I really don't see what notable win Hatton had. Collazo clearly beat Hatton IMO when Hatton tried jumping up to 147. Beating a faded Castillo didn't impress me. Froch avenged his loss to Kessler and has fought and beaten better competition.

Ricky wobbling Floyd > Better than all of Carl's achievements put together
When Froch does 1.4 million PPV buys for a fight on at 5AM, Then start comparing them.

and if Ricky didn't step up in weight, He would have retired undefeated.

Why doesn't Froch go up in weight and fight Cleverly or Hopkins at light heavy?
