JMM never did improved since the first fight, but he did added a little bit of dimension in his fight plans by mixing up more than he normally does before. And in doing that he gets hit a lot. :yep
On the flipside, I think JMM has lost a step. A big step. His footspeed isnt what it used to be. And he gets hit much more often. He was even dropped by Barrera. I expect Pacman to KO him rather easily.
improved? pac, easily. it doesn't necessarily mean he is the better fighter though. few has changed on jmm side since their last meeting. he is still the same great tactical counterpuncher who is also willing to exchange if the need arises. pac on the other hand improved a lot. he can now win rounds without knocking the other guy down
If we are to judge a fighter on his last performance, Marquez is on the same level as he was 3-4 years ago. I liked what I seen against Juarez. Pacquaio wasn't brilliant against Barrera, but his style was more cautious than usual. People never seen what they normally do when he's in the ring. He wasn't as aggressive against Barrera than we thought he would be over the 12 rounds. Tactically more aware, picking off punches at long range with movement, thus sacrificing excitement.
Same argument could be said for JMM. I think that the JMM that showed up against Barrera would be a disaster if he face Pac. If mab KDed JMM, imagine what Pac would do (Pac is way bigger now realtive to their fight 3 years ago when he fights at 147-148 lbs). It is not like he was outpunching MAB because punchstats were very close.
