Who has lost the most world title fights?

    Does what it says on the tin!

    I was looking at Iran Barkleys record (following Bunces show) and noticed that he lost 6 different world title fights (alphabet belts...).

    After looking around, i found that Evander Holyfield has lost 7 world title fights!

    And Glen Johnson equals that with 7 (and an interim.)

    Hasim Rahman managed 4 (plus an interim).
    Juan Manuel Marquez and Marco Antonio Barrera also managed 4.

    You could claim that John Ruiz has lost about 8 or 9 if you count interims and IBOs etc but i think its actually 5 if we only count IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO.

    Anyone got any further advances on 7?

    Patterson lost in 5 I think

    All of Judah's losses (7) have been in world title fights.

    I'm not on a computer at the minute, but Tony Canzoneri surely beats 7.

    Glen Johnson...7 proper title fights.
    Plus 1 interim title fight against Dawson (the rematch), IBO title against Tarver, WBU title against Branco and draw against Clinton Woods

    Yeah it's 10 or 11. I edited from 11 to 10. Either way it's gonna be a tough one to beat in Modern era at very least.
