it's a personal ego thing with Pac. He wanted "prove" to everybody and himself that he was the powerful guy not cotto (which most people assumed). Ofcourse he could of done what floyd does and not give a **** about what floyd would call "trivial" **** and avoid getting hit, but Pac fights for himself and his fans.

You still haven't pointed me to a single bit of evidence from any of Floyd's fights that he lacks heart or determination. Avoiding getting hit doesn't mean that you lack heart, it means that you know that boxing is about who is the better boxer, not who has the better chin or stronger punch. It would be a boring sport if it always came down to who was the stronger guy, or the faster guy, or the guy with the better beard.

So, like I said, show me some evidence that Floyd is incapable of dealing with adversity in the ring (he's had 40 professinal fights, there should be ample source material) or kindly drop the point.

And let's not pretend that his career started at Welterweight because he's got a damn good resume below that weight and if you can't find a single indication that he lacks heart in all of those 40 fights then I'd say it's because it's just not true.

It is possible to prove that you are a very tough guy without leaving the fight looking like you lost it. He got sloppy and he got caught. You can rationalize it all you want, or fantasize up some other scenario, but Pac has never been a defensive wizard and the only time he has come out of fights unscathed is when the other guy is so severely overmatched that Pac can steamroll him with offense.

that is more of pac displaying his adaptibility. at first i thougt, wtf are you doing trying to stay in the rope, get out of there. but soon realizes that it was his gameplan to give confidence and lure cotto into a war. imo, pac has been learning some strategy since watching opponents himself and not relying too much in roache's pre-programmed fight plan.

This is just my personal opinion.

    Power: Pacquiao

    Accuracy: Mayweather

    Speed: Pacquiao

    Ring Intelligence: Mayweather

    Adaptability: Mayweather

    Defense: Mayweather

    Inside Work: Pacquiao

    Chin: Pacquiao

    Stamina: Mayweather

    Trainer: Pacquiao

    Footwork: Mayweather

    Heart: Pacquiao

    Ring Generalship: Mayweather

    Intangibles: Pacquiao

    Ring IQ: Mayweather

Prediction: Mayweather by decision in the style of Castillo v Mayweather I. I think it will be too close to call, but Mayweather will get the decision in a performance were Pacquiao looked better.

yeh man i kno. I was just replying to some dumb stuff i saw, like he was forced to take those shots because of lack of footwork:lol::nut.

And a couple of them even had the nerve to say Heart wise Pac and May are equal.

Look im not knocking Mayweather but he hasnt shown/had to show half the heart Pac has shown throughout his whole boxing career and all the challenges he has taken on, etc ect etc

    Power: Manny Pacquiao

Accuracy: Manny Pacquiao in burst combinations, Floyd in single shots (their offense is POLAR opposites to even compare accuracy so its pointless. Better to compare PRECISION... Floyd Mayweather is more precise than Pacquiao by far)

    Speed: Manny Pacquiao

    Ring Intelligence: Floyd Mayweather

    Adaptability: Floyd Mayweather

    Defense: Floyd Mayweather

    Inside Work: Manny Pacquiao

Chin: Tied (because I don't think anyone really knows)

Stamina: Manny Pacquiao (His 12 round fight intensity is unmatched even if Floyd goes 12 just as easily but at a lower intensity)

    Trainer: Manny Pacquiao's

Footwork: Manny Pacquiao (greatest feet versatility I've ever seen)

    Heart: They both got heart

    Ring Generalship: Floyd Mayweather

    Intangibles: Manny Pacquiao

    Ring IQ:Floyd Mayweather

Prediction: If Floyd Mayweather's right hand is not sharper than its ever been, he ain't winning ****.

    8 for Pac
    5 for Floyd
    2 Even

I agree on most points, I'm just curious as to why you would rate Pac higher on inside work. He actually looks uncomfortable fighting on the inside to me. He's most dangerous at midrange because he needs extension on his punches to make them count. He's never looked very impressive mixing it up chest to chest as he doesn't have the sort of compact punches that you need to fight at that range. He also lacks a serious body attack which is important when fighting inside.

I think at the end of the day what really matters here is skills and ring I.Q., and I'm sorry to say *******s, but Mayweather leads the way in both those categories.

He'll be smart about this fight and use his superior skills to counter Manny's mistakes much the way JMM did. Only I think with his speed Floyd will do it better and win by UD.

Mayweather has more advantages. Pac has better power and trainer. Their stamina is even. Cant judge floyds chin too well but pac has been hurt more than mayweather so gotta edge towards floyd. Heart is again hard to call. But everything else goes to mayweather. Hes faster, smarter, can adapt to anything, has the better defense and has far more skills.

Power: Manny Pacquiao Pacquiao has the clear advantage and is his best chance for a win. A lack of power might be the acclies heel in Mayweather's game. It didn't sem to hurt Pernell Whitaker at 147 I don't see it hurting Mayweather at 147.

    Accuracy:
Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather dose not have the same punch rate as Pacquiao

    Speed:
Floyd Mayweather Jr Pacquiao is fast but Mayweather is faster.

    Ring Intelligence:
Floyd Mayweather Jr Mayweather comes from a somewhat secusful boxing family. His father and 2 uncles were pro boxers. All 3 are curently trainers.

    Adaptability:
Floyd Mayweather Jr Adaptabillity is the name of the game for Mayweather.

    Defense:
Floyd Mayweather Jr Mayweather is one of the best defensive boxers in the history of the sport.

    Inside Work:
Manny Pacquiao Pacquiao is giving up 5 inches in reach. No matter how fast he is If his inside work is not outstanding he will lose

    Chin:
Floyd Mayweather Jr Who has been knocked down and out more?

    Stamina:
Floyd Mayweather Jr Mayweather ends his fights as the clearly better boxer.

    Trainer:
Tie A boxer needs the right trainer not nesscarly the best trainer Freddie Roach is the right trainer for Pacquiao and Roger Mayweather & Floyd Mayweather Sr. are the right trainers for Mayweather.

    Footwork:
    Not sure

Heart: Tie Pacquiao is certanly more exciting and we all love a boxr who brings the excitment as Pacqiao dose. Mayweather on the other hand is a more calculating boxer. He has weathered early storms against
Zab Judah , Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton.

    Ring Generalship:
Floyd Mayweather Jr Mayweather sets one of the best traps in boxing. He gets his opoents come to him where he counters them.

    Intangibles:
Floyd Mayweather Jr Mayweather has long arm for a man of his size 5′ 8″ / 173cm 72″ / 183cm. He also better in the catagories that he has te edge in over Pacquiao than Pacquiao is in the ones wher is better than Mayweather.

    Ring IQ:
Floyd Mayweather Jr see Ring Intelligence.

Prediction: I expect Pacquiao to get off to a fast start winning the first four rounds. If Pacquiao is going to win it will most likely be by t/ko with in these first four rounds. He may win as many as the first six rounds. I expect Mayweather to start adapting to Pacquiao in round five and taking over by round 7. If not sooner. As the fight goes on it will be come clear that Mayweather is the better boxer. He will have Pacquiao coming to him and countering him. I can see Mayweather wnning by t/ko in rounds 10 -12. Because of Pacquiao's secuess in the early rounds a Mayweather victory will not be asured if the fight goes the distance. Espicialy if Pacquiao dose win the first six rounds and/or manages to score a knock down in those rounds.
Not factoring in possible knockdowns by either Mayweater or Pacquiao. I beleve that an honest assment of the fight will score it 8-4 or 7-5 in favor of Floyd Mayweather jr. If the fight goes to the score cards. There could very well be a Mayweather/Pacquiao 2 in late 2010 or early/mid 2011.

    Power: Pacquiao

    Accuracy: Mayweather

    Speed: Pacquiao

    Ring Intelligence: Mayweather

    Adaptability: Mayweather

    Defense: Mayweather

Inside Work: Pacquiao (if by inside work means offense)

Chin: Pacquiao, Mayweather's chin has never really been tested. Pacquiao's chin has gotten stronger since he moved up in weight.

Stamina: Pacquiao. Pacquiao has been in lot of wars. Pacquiao's punching output hardly change during a fight. If it does change it would because he throws more.

    Trainer: Even

    Footwork: Pacquiao

    Heart: Pacquiao

    Ring Generalship: Mayweather
    Intangibles: What?

Ring IQ and intelligence are practically the same. In terms of technicality it's obvious that Mayweather has the advantage.
