Having a better defense doesn't mean he stands a better chance, stylistically Mosley would bring all sorts of problems for Pacquiao that Clottey wouldn't.

Mosley would be a bigger puncher than anyone Pacquaio has faced before, is stronger than anyone he has faced before and will slug it out punch for punch for the whole 12 rounds if he has to.

There's a reason Roach said he wouldn't put Pac in with him at 147 and went after Cotto instead, that's because Mosley would beat him.

I voted neither have hope because I honestly don't think either has MORE of a chance. Was about to pick Mosley but I honestly think it will be a one-side fight for Mayweather. Clottey just isn't active enough in the ring to win a decision plus i highly doubt he could knock Pacquiao out.

What you meant to say, is that Clottey is such a small draw, that he is usually the one who is doomed from winning a decision from the very beginning. Because against Cotto, he did more than enough to win.

Had anyone else ran like that the last half of the fight like Cotto did, people would be screaming chicken.

No, in the end Pac went against Cotto because he is a Top Rank fighter, and Arum likes to keep things in house. Regardless of Roach asking for a catchweight, that doesn't mean that Mosley would beat Pac just because of that.

Pac would make Mosley look his age.

What I think doesn't matter, it's what Clottey does in the ring that makes me and many others say that. There are a lot that admit to that, even Clottey his self admitted to that in his latest interview where he makes it clear the reason why he sucks in many areas is because of suffering to make weight.

Didn't Roach say Mosley twice asked for a fight and both times Roach turned him down as he was too good? Did he also say that no way would he let Pac in with Mosley at 147 and would insist on a catchweight of 142-143 because Mosley is too big on fight night?

Now all of a sudden Pacquiao would make Mosley look his age?

How do you think a fight between the two would go? Do you think Pac would knock Mosley out or do you think he would walk through Mosley's best shots smiling while going to a comfortable points victory?

I'm a big Mosley fan but I just don't see him beating Mayweather at all and I'll be rooting for both come May of course Mosley more but I'll say "Go Mosley Go!" one minute then "Go Floyd Go!" the next. As far as Clottey, Pac will most likely win as he is always putting the pressure in the fight even when frustrated and Clottey's late round inactivity will bite him down the stretch. I just see Pac & Floyd winning and setting up their bout later this year but will be eager to eat my words about both fights on May 2.

Neither of these guys will win...as much as I like Clottey I see him losing a UD and Floyd winning by UD

If that were the case we would be looking at a Pac/Mosley fight this March. The main reason most people are choosing Pac to beat Clottey is because he is not aggressive enough when he fights, Mosley would be more aggressive against Pac. Hell, Manny's people weren't even all that interested in matching him up against a weight drained version of Shane.

Mosley has lost 5 times and apart from Cotto, those losses were glaring loses. Clottey has lost three(3) times. 3! And all are disputed.
    1. Baldomir - DQ loss in a fight he was easily winning and was way ahead on the all cards by the 11th round(after 2 point deduction).
    2. Margairto - a fight he was easily winning, without fighting out of his gameplan or pace till he hurt his hands. Note, he was handily thrashing Margarito before the injuries, and put up a hell of a fight even though it hurt to punch or block, he still did enough so that on press row, he won(or drew) one card, lost by a point on another, and the other was just a biased Mexican.
    3. Cotto - a fight he clearly out landed his opponent(in total and by rounds) in his opponents backyard with his promoter already hyping Pac-Cotto.

Clottey's defense is excellent. He's very hard to hit clean. Proof? Clottey has never been hurt, cut or dominated against any opponent, only one off balance flash KD(when he was on the attack) in 38 fights, 248 rounds. He always end fight with hardly a scratch or mark on his face. Apart from Mayweather, how many other elite, world class welterweights can you say that about? Not Berto, Cintron, William, Quittana, Margarito, Cotto, Mosley or even Pac.

Also Mosley has been hurt and dominated in more than one fight(even against Mayorga he needed that last minute KO to win).

Don't sleep on Clottey, he has all the tools to beat Pac. Judah is no Pac in terms of foot and hand speed but he's no slouch either. Clottey was able to hang with and dominate Judah, even early on in the fight. He's no zombie. He won't allow Pac to do those sideways movements. His footwork is always correct against southpaws, they have to step over his feet to move sideways. The only issue with Clottey is his desire to win, not his ability to.

Question, was Morales or Marquez as fast as Pac or have better footwork than Pac?

Clottey has an impregnable defense, brilliant combinations(with both hands), a stiff jab, accurate straight rights, powerful uppercuts, a strong chin, good countering and timing. He is a much more complete fighter that either Marquez or Morales, he is bigger, more durable and he hits harder, faster and more accurately(cleanly) than either. Remember Marquez, Morales didn't even have a tight guard and look at what they did to Pac. People forget that in Pac-Morales II, Morales was ahead on the scorecards before the stoppage.

Pac can be timed, countered and frustrated. Mayweather is very hard to do that against. Pac has problems with right handed fighters who can time and counter him, Mayweather has demonstrated he can hang with any power or speedy fighter. Clottey has even recently proven that he can handle a fast, powerful, slick southpaw with quick feet, Mosley hasn't yet proved he can handle a boxer with good defense and a jab.

I'll say Clottey has a better chance than Mosley to win the fight but has a much smaller chance than Mosley if both fights go to the scorecards.

Aggressiveness alone does not win fights. As Hatton found out against Pac and Mayweather, it has to be effective aggression. It has to go with clean punches landing as well. A lot of people are picking Pac because in his last 4 fights Diaz, de la Hoya, Hatton, Cotto his aggression also led to clean punches landing.

Do you think people will be saying the same about Pac-Clottey if the fight were happening just after Pac-Marquez II? And that's Pac's last fight before his new KO winning streak started. That' just two years ago.

A lot of people are forgetting that styles make fights and Clottey has the style to trouble Pac. He is right handed, has a tight defense, can throw fast combinations and upper cuts, can counter, is very accurate, can handle southpaws effectively, has a strong chin and is bigger and as durable as Pac.

If Pac comes in with the mentality that his fans have now, he's going to get beaten up bad, ask Diego Coralles(RIP). He fought Clottey after Clottey had lost to Margarito and he assumed Clottey was weak to the body and couldn't punch as fast or as powerfully as he could, that he could outwork Clottey, use movement to hit and get away, keep it an outside fight. Clottey lured him into an inside fight(playing on his pride) and completely destroyed him. Chico got beaten pillar-to-post.

I do hope Roach is not underestimating Clottey like his press comments suggest otherwise we'll all be surprised on March 14th.

Hard to say. Guessing game. Depends on which versions of each show up on the night. Mosley at his best, turning back the clock. And a Clottey who never existed.

I agree if pac gets out of control throwing those off balance punches I think Clottey has enough power to put him on his pamper and do to his defensive style of fighting....where as I think Mosley could catch Mayweather but it wont be often and it might be over early if he plans on out boxing floyd as he says he will

Mosley def. has the better chance. Short and simple, Mosley style is a combination that we have not seen Mayweather face yet. Clottey style and defense could only help him for a while, he's not an active fighter esp. going against Manny who throws a lot from all angles. But most importantly we all know the Molsey/Mayweather is a clean fight, if not details will be reveal because of the help of better drug testing. We will just never know about the Manny fight now:lol:
