That's a bit of an unreasonable standard to set when assessing knockout power. And using your own logic, explain Helenius.

Bodybuilder is not a one trick pony. He needs to drop an opponent with a decent chin at least 1 or 2 times before to knock him out.

If Wilder is at a 10, AJ is probably a 9.

    Zhang is a 9.5.

imagin saying all that with a straight up face.

Sorry to break it little girl, but Ngannou hasnt really been tested in the UFC. Shocking, isnt it?

Maybe you should start watching fights and stop listening to some UFC guys since they're the only fan base dumber than boxing.

    Joshua
And I have stated this from day one
It's all about levels of competition

    Yup.

    Levels mean everything.

It's easier to look slick against ****.

It's easier to commit to full power swings against guys who aren't good enough to avoid and/or punish it.

I don't think it particularly unreasonable. It's just a spin on your own standard that you replied to me with. It is just a fact about Wilder's KO record, that he often faced fighters previously stopped to showcase his power against. It seems relevant to this thread.

About Helenius by my logic... Well, Helenius had already been stopped by Duhaupas and Washington; his chin being seen as damaged goods by many. So I don't read to much into Wilder KOing his friend or Joshua later face planting the same guy on short notice. (Besides, it has always looked suspiciously like a dive against Wilder anyway.)

Both Joshua and Wilder are heavy hitters, yet neither stopped or even dropped Parker. Maybe Joyce and Zhang were the true heavy hitters of the division ;-)

I just think we now see that when Joshua throws his whole weight into a punch, like Wilder often is known for, we get a knock out like we just saw against Ngannou, something just as impressive (if not more so due to his size and lauded chin) than anything on Wilder's highlight reel.

Which goes back to what I said in my first post, and why I voted Joshua over Wilder.

    "Little girl", nice :cunaooooo:
I corrected the record, and the record stands.

I find it hard to believe there is anyone who thinks a guy fighting at heavyweight has never had his chin tested in a sport that allows elbows, kick, knees, and punches.

Which basically means you are implying he has a weak chin because Joshua, one of the biggest hitters in boxing, basically threw his whole body weight into a straight right hand.

How many times in his fighting career had Ngannou been dropped before fighting Joshua?
    His chin was tested.

I've watched Ngannou's entire career and he really hasn't taken many power shots on the feet. He might be the least hit UFC heavyweight champ in history, chin was never tested enough to say that it's iron.

Definitely doesn't have a bad chin but it's not great either. Plenty of AJ opponents handled his power much better than Ngannou did.

It is unreasonable because it discredits most fighters as being heavy hitters because "they didn't get there first".

In regards to Helenius if he was already so shot before Wilder sparked him with a short right in the first punch landed, why did it take AJ 7? It's also their most recent common opponent.

I respect your opinion in terms of power in both hands, ability to deliver it differently etc. but in terms of raw power which I believe is more relevant to the OP it's Wilder by a country mile.

Hopefully one day we actually see that fight.

Its hard to say. Who put more force in their shots? Wilder. AJ has better timing and power in his left hand than Wilder. I would say Wilder for his leading right hand is harder than AJ's regular right hands (Ngannou knockout was similar to Wilder power) but for combinations its AJ.

Wilder knocked out Helenius with a poorly landed punch. Joshua landed his best punch and knocked out Helenius. However, he received some clean shots from Joshua first. Wilder knocked out Dominick Brazel with one punch. It took Joshua more rounds. and more with a single well-connected punch... Wilder punches, he fought harder than Joshua... he is probably the strongest puncher in boxing with a single punch of all time

AJ doesn’t have any of those “I hope this guy is okay” knockouts, Wilder has several.. I don’t even care to talk about the level of opposition, because honestly, most fighters can’t even KO complete bums the way Wilder does his opponents…

AJ is a far better fighter, but Wilders power is truly special.
