No he didn't, Ortizn't failed to beat the 10 count, Ngannou was knocked into the Shadow Realm. He likely had an astral projection moment, with his soul temporarily exiting his physical self, I jest. Wilders most impressive KO for me was against the Polish football hooligan, who Chisora starched in even more impressive fashion. See where I'm going with this?

This really isn't a debate. Ask the common opponents. Wilder was almost always stated to have more power. Better boxer ≠ Bigger Puncher

Wilder puts more force into his shots because it's the only thing he can do. Dude's either throwing out probing leads or turning it up to eleven. Joshua knows how to hold back on shots or put more into them depending on the opponent and the circumstance. When he dropped Ngannou the first time it was a very short pecking type of shot. When he saw Ngannou was there for the taking he loaded up a full weighted right and you saw the result. If Joshua threw like that all the time he'd be flatlining anyone he lands on, but he'd also be putting himself at massive risk of counter if he misses. And since Joshua is fighting the level of competition that can do that to him and Wilder is not that's not a risk Joshua is willing to take just to hold the bragging rights of being the hardest puncher in the sport.

Agreed. Joshua boxes Wilder swings. But Joshua can also if he wants to. Wilder also has a killer instinct when he senses the knockout is there. Wladimir Klitschko lacked it completely. He was too gunshy. Joshua has the perfect mentality.

Wilder KO percentage since Stiverne: 67%
Joshua KO percentage since Whyte: 65%

Not too far from eachother. Joshua has better opposition but Wilder did a few common opponents faster etc. No big difference here.

Wilder easily. He doesn’t even need to extend fully or hit you fully and you’re on the floor looking up at the stars. Crazy power

Wilder, simply because he weighs less than 225 and his mechanics are terrible. How he generates that kind of power is a mystery.

I would agree that it doesn’t do justice to the early eras where fighters were far more active, but I think it is a fair thing to bring up in this era which is marked by boxers hardly fighting and careful matchmaking. But in fairness to what you said, I looked into it a little. I am likely wrong on the below lists as it wasn’t something I spent too long on, but it seems a lot of famous heavy hitters of the late 80s onwards were the first to crack the chins of multiple notable fighters (alongside a string of other KOs). That it most negatively affects Wilder is just a reflection of how he was matched. I think it is still relevant though in discussions of power punchers. Especially, as it is kind of an accepted position that chins get worse after a fighter is dropped and stopped, or a sustained beating.

    Wlad Klitschko
Kubrat Pulev; Samuel Peters* (fight 2); Eddie Chambers; Tony Thompson

    George Foreman
Michael Moorer; Joe Frazier; Ron Lyle* (Ali gave him a bit of beating with a standing stoppage)

    David Tua
Fres Oquendo; Hasim Rahman; John Ruiz

    Lennox Lewis
Michael Grant; Donovan Ruddock* (Perhaps softened up by Mike Tyson); Andrew Golota

    Mike Tyson
Tony Tubb; Michael Spinks; Larry Holmes; Pinklin Thomas

I do think Wilder is a great puncher, but I just don't think he is thee greatest puncher of the current era, and I think it is arguable who has more power between him and Joshua.

I think Wilder has probably the single biggest one shot weapon, but AJs power is better dispersed through a wider range of weapons. Wilders uppercuts, hooks, body attacks etc dont seem to have the same power as Joshuas, its just that long right hand.

As to Wilder its enough one only right hand to knock someone out.

Joshua instead nees at least two or three huge punches to knock out cold an opponent with a decent chin.

Wilder's a bit more powerful; Joshua's better in literally every other way shape & form. (smarter, faster, more skilled, tougher)

Wilder no doubt but that being said not only could he not pull the trigger against Parker he never even had none of his ring presence or menace about him .
