With this fight seemingly falling through who do you tink has more momentum in boxing right now? Alvarez went tot he Cotto-Trout fight to fight the winner but I think he wanted Cotto to win. What do you guys think?

    Easy answer: Saul "Canelo" Alvarez
Why?: Because Trout is unknown outside boxing circles.

Cotto still a bigger name than Trout.GBP will try to sell Cotto's credentials for a fight with Canelo.Especially when Mayweather will be the bigger attraction. This makes Trout uneccesary for this event.

I would say Trout. He has the better win and he did it the hard way. He is making his known the rugged way not the Golden Boy way.

Trout probably has more momentum in terms of his actual confidence and ability, but in terms of marketability, Canelo is still ahead.

Canelo has more hype but with one fight Trout > Canelo.

Trout has by far the more accomplished career he just doesn't (and never will have) the fan base of Canelo. Therefore by default the answer is unfortunately Canelo.

  9. What amuses me is when Pac beat Cotto, the *****'s said he was a shot fighter. Now since then he fought Foreman, Mayorga ,Marg, Fraud and Trout ( losing to the last 2 )
So my point is if he was shot before Pac what was he agaist Fraud and Trout??
Canelo is way better than Trout, and any ***** bigging up Trout because of his only win against a NAME ( Cotto ) are just verifying the FACT that Pacquiao's achievement in stopping Cotto is better than they will ever give credit for.

Financially Alvarez as he's the draw and has the higher chance of really cashing out. Alvarez tryna cash out before his supposed legacy starts it seems. Legacy-wise Trout as he has beaten Cotto which is a much better opponent than Alvarez has ever and sadly may ever face. Basically what Bogo said just in a different way.

no I'm merely saying Floyd and Pac need no mention in this thread. It is about trout and canelo.

Like most people say, canelo has more hype and trout has the better victory. Trout called out canelo after whipping cotto, hopefully the fight gets made.
