Takam and Parker were both on survival mode. See pacquiao vs clotted for how hard it is to stop a world level fighter who only wants to hear the final bell. Povetkin I will grant you but AJ switched tactics, dropped his left hand to draw povetkin in then broke him down with stiff jabs to the body. That shows impressive adaptability which is something Wilder simply doesn't have. Considering how long it took wilder to finally catch Szpilka who was constantly attacking him I think it's wilder who has more issue with accuracy.
In this interview Jason ''The Sensation'' Gavern said that AJ is easily the best guy he's fought Timestamped This content is protected In addition to AJ and Donkey, Gavern has fought James Toney, Oleg Maskaev, Steve Cunningham, Denis Boytsov, Oleg Platov (wtf happened to him he was a good fighter who could really crack? Another talented fighter from EE who just vanished into thin air during his prime), Lucas Browne, Wach, Ustinov, Jonathan Banks, Amir Mansour, Darnell Wilson, Junlong Zhang, Gerald Washington, and Dave Allen. Granted Gavern made those comments pre sharing a ring with the White Rhino Allen. And in this one he says he thinks AJ hits harder than Donkey Timestamped This content is protected
Wilder has heavier one punch KO power, no doubt about that at all. We can see that AJs one punch power doesnt carry to the highest level allowing him to knock out contenders clean. He needs to inflict cumulative damage. Its a similar comparison between Wlad and Vitali. Wlad had the heavier one punch KO power. Vitali was able to inflict cumulative damage to get to the same place.
AJ has real power but Wilder is a league above. Has AJ ever knocked anyone out cold? Wilder seems to do this on a regular basis. I don't believe Wilder would have unloaded everything he had but then required a Brit stoppage against Takam. AJ was booed by his own fans for good reason after that fight.
He landed on Povetkin and knocked him out, ergo, no problem. Parker was running, hardly mobile. And he admitted this himself, didn't wanna stand and trade. AJ doesnt have a problem. You are just a hater.
Both very powerful but Wilder is definitely the stronger puncher imo. The weight difference between them is negligible when it comes to punching power. Wilder is the faster and more explosive puncher, he is all fast twitch muscle fibres and he clearly is one of the most destructive punchers i have ever seen. Mother****er is all power, he bleeds power, he shits power, he ****ing **** power and he thinks power, his whole existence is based on power, he should change his first name from Deontay to Power because that's what he is.
But AJ is a combination/ cumalative puncher in general... how do you know the first sequence of a combination didnt already hurt his opponent? Many highlight reels will show you opponents knocked out on their feet or about to fall, but a.combination artist.will.land those extra damaging shots in.
It’s hard to use boxers that they both fought as a tool to measure something, there are too many variables to compare. But your point is valid regarding Molina quitting, soon as he got hit he bailed
Wilder delivers more power with his palms, wrists, forearms, behind the ears, to the backside of the head and on the neck. Just go thru his KO highlight reel and see it for yourself. You cant count clean KO punches eirher if he already cracked them with illegal shots behind the ears to begin with.
I agree that Wilder is harder puncher but the difference between him and AJ in punching power is much slimmer than the difference between Wlad and Vitali. Chris Byrd said for the record that Wlad literally hits three times harder than Vitali, Kevin Johnson, who fought Vitali and sparred with Wlad said that being hit by Vitali is like being hit by a small car whike being hit by Wlad is like being hit by a huge truck.
Molina said he struggled more with AJ because he couldn't read him at all, he never knew what he was going to throw so was forced to be more defensive, while Wilder he could anticipate his shot's because he telegraphed them and so could actually mount some kind of offence. Molina says it was Joshua's speed more than anything else he struggled with, which is a surprise. Gavern is another fighter they both fought. Gavern again like Molina seemed to go into a shell very quickly, once he tasted Joshua's heavy hands he wanted out ASAP. With Wilder Gavern showed very little respect, going right at him after first being dropped, jumping up looking pissed off after he was dropped again. I think Joshua is the more heavy handed puncher, his punches physically hurt more and have more force behind them which is why both Molina and Gavern quickly folded mentally. But Wilder has that speed and greater explosive power, his punches have less force and don't hurt as much but when he catches you cold the speed sparks you out cold. Wilder will always have the more one punch KO's because of his speed but Joshua will likely hurt guys more making them get more defensive and look for a way out faster.
Lets see if Wilder can Ko Fury like AJ did Wald,If he can Ko Fury & not some paper guy then I will respect his power.
