lets look at the facts Canelo is more physically stronger than Pac but has nowhere near as much power

Pac knocked down cotto with single shots 2 times

Canelo never came close to dropping him

canelo could not drop a shot mosley 2 years after he fought Pac

    Pac knocked mosley down

    hattons brother went 12 rounds

canelo has only really knocked out glass chinned kirkland

The only way to answer this question is to have each man hit something that measures punching power.

Otherwise you have to take into account the circumstances of their common opponents. Yes, Pacquiao put Cotto and Mosley down, but look at HOW he did it and WHEN he caught them with those shots. They don't see Pac's punches coming, but they can see Canelo's coming so they can brace for it. Also, they fought at different weights and each had different levels of experience.

The evidence between the two is inconclusive.

Edit: Take Matthysse vs Danny Garcia and Postol. Postol was the first man to knock Matthysse out but he's not considered a bigger puncher than Danny or Molina, is he?

Canelo is not a massive puncher in relation to his size Pac clearly hits harder

Canelo just has a strong body

    Canelo punches harder probably.

Lets remember Canelo could barely dent Cotto. And he hit Cotto with his absolute best shot. Pacquiao dropped him twice, rocked him a bunch of times and stopped him. That alone should speak volumes, as Pacquiao is smaller than Canelo. And the Cotto that Canelo fought was older.

Like some already said Canelo is stronger but I have no doubt Pacquiao hits harder and is more explosive. Pacquiao also probably hurt Floyd worse than Canelo ever managed to.

This. Canelo is no doubt physically MUCH stronger, but PAC hits harder. Opponents/sparring partners say he hits like a light heavyweight. Even Floyd said Pac's left hand power was something he's never felt before.

They have measured Pac's before on sport science lol. It was like about 850 lbs of force psi, I believe. They said it was the equivalent of a shotgun going off.

Pacquiao sure didn't do nothing to Mayweather with his best shots. Mayweather has one of the best mandibles in the game.

Mosley hurt Mayweather more (Although it wasn't much).

Mayweather has felt much bigger punches than Pac's punches.
