I never saw Ortiz drop somebody with one punch like this when he was at 140.. 2nd round KTFO

    :good

You can believe that Pacquiao will target that area all night... It was ridiculous for the Ortiz Tree to try to hit Mayweather in the head when he was fighting inside. Especially when he had him on the ropes the Pretty One's body was right there to be hit. :hey

Is there really an objective way of measuring how hard a fighter punches in an actual fight?

Otherwise it is all conjecture, guess.

At welterweight, Ortiz had 2 fights against credible opponents.

at Junior welter, Pac has 1 fight.

Comparing powers, it has to be in certain weight division, not the 122 version of Pac vs. the 140 version of Ortiz or the welter version of Pac vs. the 140 version of Ortiz.

If Ortiz fought Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, would he have the same power he has now. The Berto fight is not at all an indication. Berto is a bum and it was only a single fight.

It may appear that Ortiz has more raw power at 140. Pac fought once at 140 against hatton and KOed him in 2 too. But again that is only one fight.

One thing is certain, they both punch hard.

Don't have to be a ******* to give the right answer to a question that simple. Why don't you ask Ricky Hatton who hits harder?

    My vote: Pac

Raw power if it were measured scientifically, maybe and probably Victor. But once the bell rings, who uses what they've got to the overall most efficient way, Pac all day.

ortiz is bigger and more muscular, but based on the sasakul's statement based on their bout that happened dec, 2008 pac is really heavy handed.

TSS: You’ve fought in both boxing and Muay Thai and fought more than 150 times. Who would you rate as the best puncher you’ve faced?
Chatchai Sasakul: Manny Pacquiao!!! One good punch from him and I was out. He has very heavy hands.

    Good post

FWIW, at 147, I picked Ortiz.

Once again, it is comparing apples to orange.

The sasakul fight was at 122 (I think) while Ortiz campaigned almost exclusively at junior welter and welter.

Pac's power at that 122 would be like a mosquito bite against welters. Pac's 122 power would be less than Ortiz juniro welter's power.

Comparing their powers should be across similar weight class.

Pac punches harder IMO ,But Ortiz is not too far behind . Mosley hits harder then both of them even at 39 .
