Who has more skills, and who is the better fighter...Mayweather or Margarito?

Margarito is far more slick and skilled, but Floyd is the better "fighter" (brawler).

 

Margarito clearly has far more skill and is the far more well rounded fighter. His brilliant movement, all round defensive prowess, and lightning quick hand speed give him a clear edge over mayweather.

I also hear that Margarito eats chickens for breakfast whole, completely feathered. Whilst this isn't exactly relevant to the discussion, i feel it deserves mention as it is extremely impressive.

 

Margarito is probably a better welterweight than Floyd who really hasn't beaten anyone of note at that weight.

Floyd is probably a better jr.Welterweight than Margo is a welterweight.

 

Margo would counter PBF all nite.

Cotto is far more skilled than Margarito (by a mile).
Kessler is more skilled than Calzaghe (by little).
Hopkins is more skilled than Calzaghe (by a little).
Toney is more skilled than Peter (by a mile).

Mayweather is of course more skilled than Margo (by a mile and then some).

Margo, hands down. He's good fighting off the back foot, has better footwork, his defense is superior.

Head to head though, Margo's the better fighter because he would stomp him, while Floyd would be the better runner, but not good enough. The only way he doesn't get pummeled by Margarito is by refusing to fight him. So I guess you're right, Floyd is a defensive master.

 

you're crazy, Floyd could walk right through Margo's pitty pats, pin him against the ropes, and knock him out with his powerful punches. Margo has zero stamina.
