No offense but why would that be the first that pops into mind?

 

Leonard with Benitez,Duran and Hearns or Duran,Hearns and Hagler. or Hearns Cueves,Benitez,Duran or Hearns Benitez,Duran and Hill ,or Duran's ... oh wow. Duran didn't really have three really great wins!!!!

 

Why shouldn't it be.

Greb is universally considered one of the very greatest ever (all time P4P), Dempsey one of the best cruiserweight-sized fighters ever.

Both fights were massive and shocking upsets when Tunney pulled them off.

 

Greb would have wins over a top five light heavy (Tunney), a top ten light heavy (Loughran) and a top ten middleweight ... pretty amazing !

Leonard's were great but Hearn's was extremely young, Hagler past his best. Duran win was great ...

Ali's wins ... Liston very old, Foreman a great win, Frazier 2 was a ref's fight, Frazier 3 by a pubic hair ...

 

I'd personally go with Greb, the fact he could be a lightheavy weight who later went on to be the heavywieght champ is amazing. Leonard won some spectular fights but he most noticible wins were guys close to his own size. And although he may have outboxed Hagler and won, he didn't get in the trenches to win, that to me is more impressive.

 

There could be 20+ correct answers for the question raised, but I remember the Ali fights listed above so well and each was very significant.

Ali was a brash young dude with 20 fights to his name and thought by most to have no chance whatsoever against Liston.

Foreman was 40 zip and destroying all opposition until Ali rope-a-doped him and finished George once he'd run out of gas.

Ali's wins over Frazier followed an earlier loss to him (his first), plus the disappointment of losing to Norton (once officially and the second bout could have gone either way also).

During Ali's era the heavies were the only division most people were interested in and it's fair to say that each of the above wins actually shocked the world, not just hardcore boxing fans.
